Well it seems the French are good for something. I cannot recommend this enough - if its in your area, go and see it. Fucking awesome.
Yes, the French can actually do something noteworthy...
Allegria is the best performance by far. Varukai is good, but I cant wait for Allegria to come to this part of the planet.

Seen Allegia, Saltimbanco, Quidam, and Mystere. Loved em all. Probably liked Allegria the best.

Is there a huge difference between them all, or are they each individually suited to certain sized venues, or what?

On some levels yes, on some levels no. L'Oeu, for example, can only be performed with water. The others vary in choreography and music and performers, but all the ones I've seen are around the same level of excellence.
I agree. See Cirque de Soliel. Tickets aren’t that expensive. Its an art.

The French are definitely good for something - hiring top-notch Oriental performers.
I'm not sure which variety of Oriental they are - I didn't check their website for "country of origin"...
But the vast majority of the performers are not French Europeans (they might be French Orientals - they got a few of them Asian types living there too <grin>)

Depends on the show. Allegria had a lot of Western Europeans, more than anything else, from what I remember... and a few Canadians. Others may be different. I think Quidam had several Australians.

Who ever they are, they are very fine and athelitic specimens of human beings.

Yeah. But there was a only a few Oriental performers at the show I went too. Everyone else seemed very European.
Which one did you see? I've seen quite a few different shows of theres all of which have been amazing.
Oh shit.

I saw "O" with my girlfriend when we were in Vegas. We both enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.

Last year I went with my family to see Varukai. We had VIP passes into a tent where we were served champagne and all that good stuff. We also go to talk with a few of the performers. Was great pre-show enterntainment. Then we enjoyed the performance from the second row. Truely a great experience.
The only other show I was privy to was Cheval, obviously involving horses and yet more french performers. I also covered their grounds while I was a security guard and had a few close up enocunters with the horses. Had some truely massive beasts they did, like our native Clydsdale horse for example.

Yeah. We saw Allegria from about that close. Very very wild seeing it like that. Sounds like an awesome time. I'm envious.

Eh... It's not "french", it's "québecois".
It's as stupid as confusing english people from american people.
I know someone that worked in the cirque, they are VERY VERY selective and won't forgive ANY errors.
I can only agree with that, when they are among the best.

But not nearly as stupid as your grammar.

Went for the 6th (I think? Algeria, Quidam, Samaltibanco, Varikai x2, and I think one other and I probably spelled all of those wrong) time last night, although last nights show I had already seen. It was interesting to resee a preformance by them and realize still how amazing it is even when you know what they are going to do.
I have to say Quidam is still my favorite though.
Saying people from Quebec are French is a little ridiculous...

Quidam was pretty awesome, I agree. I think they did some really neat things with deep tones with it, musically.

Musically Quidam is untouchable in my opinion... but I think the story (atleast I understood it) was better in Varikai.

I've been wanting to see them for a while and have never got around to it. I've always been into 'the human body as an art form' type exhibits and I know Cirque Soleil really do that. Cant wait till they come to Houston again. :)

I went to see Corteo in Montreal when it opened in may...excellent, though it was more theatric than previous cirque's.
And I was a tapis rouge person which rocked. Free open bar, free food, etc etc.

I saw La Nouba in Florida a few years back.
Excellent show, I'd definitely watch others live.
I have seen some already mentioned on TV.
