What gets me, is if the president had been Clinton, I'm sure Ken Starr would already have a grand jury investigation and there'd already be impeachment motions.
If it had been Clinton, he'd be lying under oath about it by now....

Suggests that hmm, maybe blowjobs weren't worth 40 million of investigation...
His fettish for fat female interns wasn't the issue, it was the fact that he lied under oath about it.

It's been said before. They haven't gotten it before, they don't want to now.
Thats so much loser bullshit. Admit it. Republicans don’t know how to party like Demcrats and you are just jealous.

He should have just done what Bush did: refuse to testify under oath at all. Which is also irrelevant to the subject: bribing journalists to spread your propoganda.

Shocking that.
Here's something I don't understand. Why do you bother posting this stuff? Do you honestly belive you will change anyone's mind about President Bush? It just doesn't make much sense to me. I won't change my mind based on anything you say, nor will anything I say change yours. It's pointless, and only serves to frustrate those involved. If you like bashing the president, head on over to the democratic underground, they'll love you for it. If you want to insult liberal democrats, head over to the Free Republic, they'll be happy to join in.
Last time I checked, it was Freedom of Speech in this country. Kinda what it was founded on? WB can handle this. Just interjecting for f sake.

I enjoy a good debate with some of the folks here. I find it fun, versus generally foolish other places. In addition, I don't think many folks knew about this particular instance yet. Curiously enough, Off Topic seems to be the most popular folder here. I'm far from the most "extreme liberal" you'll find, here or elsewhere. Plus, during the election and now in the aftermath there's been a lot of conservative stuff posted as well.
I also perhaps stupidly have always found Gemstone players and the surrounding community relatively reasonable. I used to wrangle over this stuff a lot in a Gemstone related chatroom, but having quit I'm no longer there. It passes the time between blog postings and sessions of writing, research, job searching, and single player games.

I fail to see where I was crying. That's okay though Backlash, if it makes you feel better about yourself to belive you have won a victotry here, go right ahead. After all, the whole point of this topic is a liberal democrat crying about the President. Face it, John Kerry lost, and no amount of whining about the policies of George W. Bush will change that fact.

Err, right. That's clearly my point. I supported John Kerry "so" vigorously. Not that you've been reading, but I predicted him losing on this forum a long time before he did.
What benefit are you exactly gaining here?
Don't want folks to hear about payoffs to the media?
Tired of the grievous "harm" I'm doing?
Sick of the "whining" I've done because Kerry lost?
Or heck, just feel like drawing more attention to the topic?

Funny, I thought the topic was how the Bush administration broke the law and conservative journalists clearly violated all ethical standards. Republicans seem quick to condemn Democrats when they do that. And I think everyone here remembers Dan Rather?
So basically, you're saying you don't give a damn if the Bush administration breaks the law or not and nothing he does will change your opinion of him. That about it in a nutshell?

If you can’t recognize that WE are in the same boat, there is nothing more I can say.

At first I'm like, "Guys, give him a break. He is from Texas." Then I'm like, "Are you sure he's from Texas? Don't they terminate people like him down there?" I guess I misunderstood the whole capital punishment for retards thing. I guess they aren't killing all of them. Pitty, that.

I can't wait to see who the next person will be who took money, against the US goverments own regulations mind you, from the Bush administration to spill forth its propoganda.

This is our government and our country we're talking about here, not a sports team. I don't understand the mentality of cheering because 'we won' the election.
If the administration is abusing its power and breaking the laws it is in place to protect and uphold, don't we all lose?
I was never a Bush hater, in the first election when it was Bush against Gore I honestly didn't care which of them won. (Wrote in my vote for McCain.) As time went on I read and saw more and more things that disturbed me about the Bush administration. In the last election I voted for Kerry, not because I'm a 'liberal' or a 'Democrat', but because I felt that the Bush administration behaved in an unethical manner and felt themselves above the law. So, to answer the original question: Yes, read enough of the truth with an open mind and eventually you can't help but realize how dangerous this administration is and what it's doing to our country.

Unfortunately for some folks on this board, you can't say anything that even sounds like it's not in support of this administration without them trotting out all the usual bullshit and then reducing it down to - you're just angry because Kerry lost.
Maybe there's some degree of comfort in not having to actually think about things. Just go with blind faith.

Here's what I don't get.
McManus was hired by the Lewin Group
Gallagher apologized this week to readers for not disclosing a $21,500 contract with HHS
The Education Department paid WilliamsBush has specifically come out and said "don't do that". Paige is gone. Thompson is gone. And yet there are comments like these:
nothing he does will change your opinion of him.
At first I'm like, "Guys, give him a break. He is from Texas."
Do you honestly belive you will change anyone's mind about President Bush?Does anyone see where I'm coming from?

HHS and The Education Dept. are part of the executive branch. The executive branch deserves to be held accountable for these errors. This practice deserves a LOT of sunshine.
It will be good to find out just how much environmental groups receive in grants from the government that they then use to either sue the government or advertise for even more donations.
There are many, many more examples of this type of behavior. This is not a Bush problem. Or a democrat problem. Or a Republican problem.
If you think that that link reveals something new, you rank a 10 on the gullibility index.

I wasn't trying to say Bush wasn't accountable, but I don't understand why I don't see anyone crying for Tommy Thompson's head on a platter. Surely his involvement is more direct than the President's?

Probably because people are used to the "top" ordering things performed by lower people and then the lower people getting blamed for it? Effects Presidents of either party.
