Questions about foraging

I am genuinely curious about foraging my own healing herbs. I am playing a ranger and doing the hardcore contest and I think I can get more immersion out of the contest and my character if I do this. I was just wondering if I want to go out and forage emoss or pothinir is my level and survival ranks going to hold me back or are all herbs equally easy to forage and it's all a matter of location and navigating wildlife?

Using Fixskills to your advantage is allowed within the rules of HARDCORE. I would suggest maximizing your Survival and Perception training when attempting to forage, along with casting Foraging (603). Once you have the herbs you need, you can remove the ranks if you don't have room for them. If you don't want to do that, you will likely need open or very high rolls to obtain the herbs you want, but it IS possible. It just takes time.

Just be careful foraging in the wilds. We have lost a few competitors, including rangers, while they were out foraging. Good luck!

So it does look like each herb has a magic number but I'll just load up survival and give it a try
