THIS ENCHANT FORMULA HAS BEEN DEPRECATED.
See http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?120230-Spring-spectacular-925 for additional information.

The base penalty for every enchant is -100. With each successive tier there is an additional penalty derived from the sequence of integers squared -{2^2, 3^2, 4^2...20^2} added to the base. Eg., an enchant with a starting bonus of +25 has a base penalty of -100 plus an additional penalty of -144 (12^2) for a total penalty of -244. A surcharge is added for items with special/enhanced properties. The usual suspects (encumbrance, injuries, low heath, low spirit etc) will reduce the endroll. The encumbrance penalty is -2 points per 1% encumbered body weight.

ENCHANT FORMULA

Level + (AUR + LOG + INT bonuses) + Wizard Base Ranks (see note 1) + (MjE ranks/2) + (MnE ranks/2) + (EMC ranks/2) + (Arcane Symbol ranks/4) + (MIU ranks/4) + Workshop Bonus (see note 2) + Familiar (see note 3) + Material Difficulty + Enchant Penalty + d100 roll

An endroll of +101 will result in a successful enchant excluding the random 3% final step failure.

Note 1: Wizard Base ranks
* Ranks up to level: +2 per rank
* Ranks above level to (1.5 * level): 1.5 per rank
* Ranks above (1.5 * level): +1 per rank

Note 2: Workshop (location)
* Public workshop: +40
* CHE/Wizard Guild workshop: +60
* Private workshop: +80
* Earthnode: no bonus
* Non-node: -40 penalty

Note 3: Familiar
* Familiar called and present in room with wizard: +20
* Familiar called and not present in room with wizard: -20
* Familiar not called: +0 (no bonus/penalty)
