need to double check how enhansive bonuses work

I thought I understood this, but apparently not. For some reason I thought stat bonuses couldn't go above 40, and skill bonuses couldn't go above 50.

Yet, today I noticed I have 41 strength bonus.

I'm a dwarf so my base strength is 100 (35). I just re-read how the enhansive system works, does it mean that my max bonus in strength can actually be +55? +20 goes on top regardless of what base racial bonus you had?

Does this mean enhansives that increase Combat Maneuvers BONUS do not actually add to AS? (Since it says RANKS specifically)

Enhancive bonus can't go about +40 - that's on top of your normal stat bonus. In your numbers above, your strength enhancive bonus is only +6.

An enhancive that increases ranks also increases bonus and the reverse. The distinction is important (1) below 40 ranks where 1 rank != 1 bonus and (2) for recharging costs which are based on (1) being true. (The game values Ranks higher, but players, in most cases, value Bonus higher because of the lower associated costs.)

Wiki says enhansive bonus to stat bonus maxed out at 20, so I can get 14 more strength bonus then? There's no "hard cap" to stat bonus that would keep me from going to +55 str bonus?
