question of curiosity but why do bards always go for so high? they special in someway?

For one, once they're capped, they pretty much wreck shit very easily. Plus, if you encounter a lot of items in game, it's just much nicer to have your own bard than it is to find one to sing to stuff for you. I find it almost impossible sometimes to find bards when I need them.

Additionally, you can double the value of your gems through purification. Some drop a Prince reference here with the name of that lake.

With bards it takes no gear. That's another reason they're valuable. They can sing sonic weapons/shields/armor in to existence and never have to pay a dime for actual gear if they don't want to. And I've never played a capped bard, but I think most just use 1030 and it blows shit up just by singing and using an instrument.

Additionally, sonic weapons can’t be disarmed. Almost impossible to lose weapons and shields in battle.

Unfortunately 1040 doesn’t work on all occasions. However, if your trained properly it is extremely rare for this to happen. At least in my experience.
