Wow! Hi, Buckwheet! Long time, no see words from!
Hope things are well with you and yours. :)
Hey Bucky.
Do us a favor and relate again how the PC originated and all the hands it has passed through?
And come play WoW.

Well ok, but just this once!
I do play WoW but only part time on Sargeras as Alliance.
Basically back in the day there was only one unofficial message board people posted on. Well, they decided to change a bunch of things with the site and there was a couple of us that didn't have a problem per se with the changes, but they just weren't presented properly.
So one day I was reading the boards and basically the forum admin said pretty much word for word, Hey this is MY message board and my rules, if you don't like it then make your own damn board.
This is how the idea sprung up. I did some research and found that it really wasn't to hard to get what I wanted and I had all the equipment sitting in my house. So the very first GS Players' Corner was born. It consisted of 4 categories.
Kranar Korner
Edgeleaf's ..musings I think..
Porcell's Ponders
And just a general forum.
Then out of nowhere Kranar contacts me and says that this was the best idea ever and that he would basically spend a ton of time getting the board actually ready to work.
So the forum was run off a gimpy 200mhz pentiun on a dedicated 1mbit DSL line from my house. Within..45 days there were a hundred posters and it was getting way to big so we started to move around.
After about a year Kranar stepped down and I had to find a new admin and we continued the site for about another year. Then that assitant admin stepped down and to be honest it was getting to be a pretty large task keeping this site admined. I also have moved on from GS to DAOC and my interest in the game had dissapeared. So I decided to shut it down.
Caels decided to pick it up and he ran it for a bit before dissapearing into thin air. If your reading this HELLO! Kranar helped him out getting things back up and running and now Kranar is back at the helm.
Anything other then that I do not know, or remember.
I have moved on to a much larger project that I have talked about here a lot, rpgfilms.net is a media file distribution project because...you guessed it...someone said Hey if you can do it better then go do it.
Just to tell you the scope of the site(I am recovering atm because of family emergencies so its not back 100%) but it had hundred of movie files on it and I have moved from a smaller shared hosting package that this site runs on to multiple large backbone fiber lines and my site does in the range of 20TB of transfer per month and hitting a peak output of 580mbit per second!
Not sure what the highest hit count we did on this site was in 1 month, but I process 15 thousand unique visitors every month.
Anyway if it wasn't for the sucess of GS Players I wouldn't have had the confidence of starting this other site.
Thats my story and I am sticking to it.

There you have it folks, the originator of the PC.
:ultimate:
Still going strong in the capable hands of the co-founder Kranar and The Moderators. (Great name for a band)
I joined the PC when Kelood got kicked off the-spot and I realized I didn't really want to be a moderator over there anymore.
Was whee.org the original domain for the PC Buckwheet? At least that's what it was when I got there.

Just remember that "If its cool its @whee".
Thats my slogan.

You can read about what whee.org is :)
I still have the old UBB files somewhere on a hard drive. Not sure if Kranar ever put that on this new host or not.
I might have to host it just to bring back the nostalgia!
