So I really like the ability to pick my own boxes but I don't love the actual mechanic of picking my own boxes, hence the use of a script. I haven't actually played a rogue for a few years that was old enough to pick boxes and back when I did, lockpicking scripts were just starting to come out and hadn't been perfected yet. At that point, I usually just used one of the mechanical lockpicking bracers unlocked to T2 (no trap detection).
I'm wanting to get back in to doing this and was wondering if there is a lockpicking script that reigns supreme or if it just depends on what you like. I believe Tpick was the original one I had heard about but I also think I just heard someone else mention a different one the other day on lnet. I don't remember what it was, but if there are multiple now, maybe someone could give an impression of what's out there and what the differences are?
With the development and perfection of these scripts, is having a mechanical locksmith bracer that doesn't yet have the trap detection ability really make that big of a difference anymore? I always liked the fact you could just spin the bracer, get the pick you wanted, and push it to unlock the box. But if the scripts are now advanced enough, I don't know that there's as much value in those items, again other than if you were to have one of the fully unlocked ones for the trap detection, which I won't have. Does having one of the bracers still make it even easier when combining its use with the script?
Would appreciate any thoughts people have on this. Thank you.
