So I got this game free with my purchase of a 1080. Anyone else playing it?

I love it, but I loved the first one. I put it on Nemesis difficulty to start as the last one often felt far too easy. I have died...many times so that's definitely no longer an issue.

That being said, if you played the first one and didn't like it, don't bother with this one. It is a far more well rounded game, but it's still the same core systems with 1 or 2 more layered on top of it.

In terms of performance, I run it at 4k Ultra settings 60 FPS with no problems other than some scenes making my computer sound like a jet engine. I have a 980 ti so i'd say it's pretty well optimized, especially if you didn't want to play at 4k. I'd highly suggest playing with a controller unless you're one of those people who insist on playing with a mouse and keyboard regardless of game type.

Completed this game. I really liked it. Act IV is an epic grind, though. Played 95% of it on Nemesis, but finally gave in and dropped the difficulty to get through the end part faster. Unless you really, really like defending fortresses, I suggest doing the same if you've a mind to "finish" the game.

My understanding is that everything you can buy with $ you can also buy with in-game currency, and it's not necessary to progress.

That's how it starts, rather nip it in the bud and not support micro transactions in single player for any reason. Make a complete game and micro transactions shouldn't be needed at all. It's already bad enough that DLC is available upon release a lot.

Its sad for me because I was looking forward to playing this, then I found out about these transactions. This guy sums up my thoughts pretty nicely.

Except the family only gets purchases from the US, its a worldwide release. Like I said, read the fine print. They get all the money from the purchases from the rest of the world.

I don't have a problem with them making some profit on it, but the lions share should go to the family, especially if that is how you are marketing it. It is a DLC specifically marketed as helping out the family... There's nothing else to that DLC...

And they didn't have to market it as that either. Agree to disagree. It looks like they announced the tweet was incorrect and they were going to always give the proceeds to the family for the international sales. It's now free DLC and the company made a sizable donation to the family directly.
