Which one is the original? There's a broadsword base and a short sword base but I don't remember which one was first. Or second for that matter.

Well yeah but which one was around first? All I remember was I would originally envision it looking like this but with a hilt even though I knew it wasn't:

I think the broadsword was. The short sword was a slightly different description too.

What did the short sword one look like? I thought they were both just "a fish spine sword."

I don't recall exactly. I think a hyphen was involved with the short sword version.

I believe one was a fishspine sword and the other was a fish spine sword if memory serves.

Here is what the broadsword one looks like. Amusingly, I thought it was a short sword.
