I'm gonna end up waiting till they release it on DVD. Sci-Fi channel comes up with a lot of good stuff, but they're SO frustrating to watch. By the time you're in the last 30 minutes of the program it's two minutes of show, ten of commercials, two of show, etc.

Drives me bugshit. Even though I'm sure I'll love the show, the over-commercializing will ruin it for me.

Growing up I was such a fan of the original just because Dirk Benedict ( Starbuck) was sooo hot!

starbuck is some dumb ass blonde chic. and it has like nothing to do with the original, they shouldve just said 'this is a totally new sci fi show but to get viewers we're stealing minimaly from battlestar galactica'

Yeah, it's better. Starbuck is being just like Starbuck only it's a chick now. I think the show is great. It's doing what it should have done from the beginning.

If follows the original as in "based on". The creators went for character definition and drama. People die and they die horribly. They don't meet up with inhabitants of other planets; it's more realistic without losing the sci-fi aspect.

This isn't a washed down show for the whole family. The XO is an alcoholic, Starbuck is a druggie, Boomer ... also on the receiving end is an unwitting agent of the cylon, and the new pres is dying. Then the visuals .... awesome.

I like catching re-runs of the original on sci-fi now and again, but I can't help feeling embarrassed at times watching the cheesiness that was the late 70's.
