I never realized before that it actually activates when mstriking. My monk has 35 MoC ranks and rank 2 of Flurry. Managed to get 14 attacks off of this one, and 6 of those were from Flurry.

I can't really say whether this is flurry of blows or not because you don't mention how many critters are in the room, whether or not they've been jabbed already, and the fact that your example here is using mstrike jab.
But with mstrike, you get a free jab on things that haven't been jabbed previously. 90% guess that's all you're seeing. Not Flurry of blows.

I'm also seeing that your RT is 8 seconds, on mstrike jab. That shouldn't even be possible without like negative agidex. What are your stats like that you're getting those numbers? My mstrike KICK is only 7 seconds, with way more kicks involved.

But yeah, most of thes jabs are rather plinky, of course, but it's nice with all the flares. I just never actually realized it activated on mstrike. Looks like there were 4 creatures there (that's all I should be able to hit with 35 ranks anyhow).
Makes me curious to see what rank 3 of flurry would look like.

I'll test it out when I get a chance. I've got a fixskills and cmans are pretty quick to unlearn. Thanks for the agidex update. I was worried it was adding the 2 seconds for a normal flurry jab into the mstrike if you had some agidex. You should definitely get that boosted up. Even one second makes a world of difference. Means you can mstrike kick instead of punch in many cases, and 8 seconds on the jab is way too high. I can focus four kicks and a jab in 7 seconds, 4 punches and a jab in 6. That's small-race high, but it's pretty easy to get yourself to shave off that first couple seconds.
Edit to add:
You know what would be neat to see, to give flurry a reason over krynch, would be an ability for flurry on an mstrike to surpass the 10 levels above barrier where you can't tier up. Currently if you UAC anything over 10 above you, you're stuck at decent positioning forever, which just makes your mstrikes jab over and over again, which is super sad.

I used flurry of blows with flaring/ensorcelled gloves in camps to great success. If there's multiple things in the room a jab at 2 seconds if effective for some quick crowd control.

That'd definitely be awesome. Crit weighting is essentially wasted on a Monk as I've found (due to the incredibly low kick/punch death crit levels and weighted blows from good/excellent position), but damage weighting could potentially get pretty insane. For maximum effect though I think you'd have to get equally damage weighted brawling weapons to dual wield as well. .150 to your punches is a ton from holding them, but holding the weapons would half your weighting from the gloves unless the weapons also had that weighting. And after all that, it still does nothing to your kicks, but with 40 points of damage weighting on top of .150 extra, who needs kicks?
Anyway, super expensive proposition to really max out. You'd need two 40 point weapons, 40 point gloves, and if you wanted your kicks boosted as well (gonna need at least some kicks for tier up opportunities regardless), 40 point boots, but if you managed it...holy crap. That'd be sweet.

You'll run into some stuff as you get higher that takes forever to kill by blood. It really gets noticeable around level 40 compared to your first easy 30 or so, but things kind of top out around 400hp I've found. And even then, not all of them hit that. I use pretty basic 5x fire flaring stuff and occasionally I'll just kill stuff by blood simply by mstriking. You get enough blows in there, build around your flares, maybe add some damage weighting into the mix, and that's gonna be a viable long term strategy against a good number of critters.
Add in that a lot of the time as you go mstriking and tiering up, you're gonna get a lot of random crit kills simply from hitting the right spot at excellent (anything but jab, but punch/kick with the best chances), you'll have really no trouble killing stuff by attrition later on. If nothing else, it'll save you points from not bothering with 24-30 ranks of ambush. I only use ambush to secure kills about half the time as it is because the first mstrike kills so often.

Yeah, I'm thinking about throwing some damage weighting on my gloves, but it's like 15k scrip for 20 services on them.
Seems like what is making Flurry effective here is that it's activating on the free jab you get from the mstrike plus all of the jabs I get from the mstrike jab. Gonna bump it up to rank 3 next level and see what that looks like in a room full of grim.

Yeah, my monk is at 36 now, and I'm still enjoying flurry, but I do suspect that some point Krynch or another martial stance will be more useful. I think the greater fire flares on my gloves will extend the usefulness for quite a while, as I'll be hunting troll camps/Icemule for quite a while longer. But yeah, when my monk was in his teens, I could just sit there and do nothing but jab with flurry up, and I'd clear a warcamp in no time. Now I actually have to punch and stuff.
I'm also curious about how flurry affects tiering up when mstriking. I'm wondering if the flurry jabs, which proc between regular mstrike attacks, actually reset the type of attack that you need to tier up for the next attack. I keep meaning to actually look back at a warcamp log to figure this out, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
I got rank 3 recently, but I haven't found the third rank to be all that useful, as the odds of getting 3 jabs aren't especially high. First, you actually have to have 3 enemies in the room. Then, you have to get a second strike (75% chance) before you even have a 50% chance of the third. If my math is right, this only gives you a 37% chance of 3 strikes when there are 3 foes present. I think it'd be more useful if I hunted warcamps with a partner, so there'd a bigger chance of having 3+ creatures around at once.
As far as halflings go, I think the main reason they're such a popular choice for monks is because of their inherent TD bonuses. Monks are infamous for their TD issues, and the +40 elemental TD and +20 sorc TD go a long way toward mitigating that. Monks have access to spells that boost spirit TD, but nothing that really helps with the elemental stuff.
And since UAF factors in both STR and AGI, halflings don't have big penalties to their UAF like they would to AS. Halflings have problems with generating AS for melee combat, and they have problems with RT when firing a bow, so UAC is kind of a natural fit.
Plus, everybody loves some lush toe hair.

I'd generally agree, but I think burger gnomes probably make better wizards and sorcs. From a mechanical perspective, at least.

If I had to do it over again (I'm a Bgnome Monk), I'd still be a gnome again. Halfling though as a Monk has a massive, massive bonus. The thing a Monk most lacks self sufficiently is elemental TD, and halflings get a massive natural bonus to just that, as well as a few other types.
UAC and Maneuver-wise Gnome/Halfling are about equal (read: very, very good). I went gnome for the super logic bonus, but I was very torn on going Halfling for the ETD bonus.

I kind of wanted to try out the Mstrike UAC changes with a Monk and recently created one, so this is an interesting thread. Though I'm probably going to try to get Perfect Self first, I think, before going for any martial stances.
I nearly went Halfling after reading all the bonuses they seem to have, but I really didn't feel like RPing a Halfling. In the end I went Dwarf - they also have a ETD bonus, I believe. I know they have a small negative to Agility, but shouldn't affect me too much in the long run I don't think. They have a lot more HP than a Halfling, anyhow. The low HP was the only thing I really disliked about my Gnome Ranger character.

Yeah, the nice thing about monks is that they can learn combat toughness, which helps with the HP problem a bit. Rank 1 still leaves you 30 points shy of a dwarf's max HP, but puts you fairly close to most other races.
I reckon perfect self probably gives you another 5 max HP from the CON bonus at rank 5, too.

One downside of flurry of blows is that it'll get you into additional trouble against reactive stuff. I'm gonna think twice before mstriking in a room full of shapers again, at least until I get 120:

ugh, god. Yeah, fuck that fucking disintegrate cloak. It's also super annoying the first hit is just raw HP damage, and meditating disintegrate doesn't help lessen it. I'm still waiting for the day when I kill myself on that fucking thing. I run ki-focus and feint though so usually feint + ki focus and a head punch does them in.
