Boora / Baeleron / Rydger / Sazarr offered to ensorcell my item, then logged off with it and went unresponsive on his other accounts. He still has my item and I have no way to get his attention.

Hope this helps other people avoid a similar issue.

If your deal didn't happen in a playershop, Simu will not help you under any circumstance. I learned that the hard way when I first came back and got scammed on a sale on lnet. You could advertise anything you want to sell as a 10x permablessed returner, and if somebody buys it, or accepts it into their inventory, it's theirs, so long as a playershop was not involved.

While that might be true, I've bought and sold a couple things in the past that I either sold or bought to or from and found myself in a Consul lounge to explain it.. so they could find the person who actually did wrong( not me) specifically most recently a 10x waraxe during that last duskruin CC scam.. but the simucoin portion of that probably took the majority of their focus.

That is not always true. GMs have gotten involved with player/player transactions before, especially when the other persons logs off to "escape".

If the person took your item in order to provide a service and slammed, and is now ignoring you and all requests, that's arguably a pretty clear TOS violation (POLICY 3). GMs can intervene in that instance -- plenty of times in the old days when people were stealing and logging off, or grabbing weapons, etc. from decayed bodies and logging off, who were brought to heel.

This isn't so different if someone is being deceptive and non-responsive.

If the person(s) don't respond then try to get a referral and at least raise the issue. Hopefully the item was registered to you, too.

You can use smuggling sacks to give an item to another player by "burying" it in the ground. Quite cheap at DR, bought a few myself but haven't tested them. And you'd somehow have to get the sack back. Not something I'd use on super-expensive items though, who knows what bugs lurk?

Anyways, there is zero chance a GM won't force the culprit to hand the item back in this case. This isn't fucking Shattered... there are rules!
