View Full Version : Lich's Landing is open again
Are we going to talk about this? It's been open since Saturday night and it's more fun than meteor-bashing.
The way there is sort of puzzle-ish. Start at the WL catacomb nexus, go nw nw nw to the end, jump jump, swim upsteam, go grate - that'll get you started. Or just get someone to set a ring for you.
Same creatures as before (during All The Lich King's Men). Capped creatures in the base of the citadel (equivalent location to TSE/moot), post-cap deeper in the citadel. But I think there's stuff for all levels, in multiples of 5. Corpse row, outside of the banshee tower, was like 50/55/60 or something. I think the barracks is the next step up from that.

I have no idea what Lich's Landing is, but I'm giving it a shot and I'm stuck in the ruined catacombs in front of the collection of urns.

The stuff in the top of the citadel is brutal. The stuff at the bottom is just right

Is there a breakdown somewhere of what levels are where? I'm 41. Don't feel like I should just be wandering around unless I know what's out there.

In the blacksmith area, bone golems and blacksmiths had DS of around 80, I kept dodging, so couldn't see their AS.

The dead Krolvin seem to be in their 30's, while the emaciated wights seem to be in their mid 40's or so

I think if you stay out of the citadel, tower, barracks, and corpse row you'll be okay. But I don't know where thh 30-40 stuff is. Try the inn, maybe?

Thanks. I did find some 30/40 stuff just wandering around town a bit, and around The Darkness With Inn
Nevermind...

whoever opened this place back up was brilliant. this place rocks my balls off... the atmosphere cit of the dead vibe is fucking exactly up my alley. The assortment of critters is also nice, would like to see this place as a permanent fixture and perhaps a cool quest in here to really spice it up!

Was this reopened from a storyline?

Goblyn took some of us on a trip the other night and it was rediscovered.

FYI the death knights in the top floor of the citadel disarm. Almost lost my staff last night. Got it back though.

Ok, stay away from the death knights. Noted. :(
Any other outdated weapon loss mechanics in this area?

The barracks might also feature some disarming...the creatures there looked like reskinned skeletal lords, which sometimes (but not too often) get an urge to disarm you.

FWIW, I've had my pike on the ground twice, with long RT, and nothing seemed interested in picking it up. Not that anyone likes their Precious on the ground, but it may be slightly less problematic than in other places.
The other thing about the death knights: they can flare for +250 or so AS. Highest I've seen is 740 AS. Besides that and the disarm, I think they are plate-wearing giant rats.
The horrors are very low DS/very squishy, though their sorc TD is fairly high. The apparitions are very high sorc/wizard TD and very high DS, but oddly a pretty reasonable-looking bard TD (at least, the bard I saw was wrecking them.) The horrors like to do a lot of RT-inducing stuff (ewave, call wind). The apparitions like warding spells. They can't hit me but I saw them mess up someone else pretty good.

Probably because your weapon was blessed or UB and undead can't pick it up.

That makes complete sense, but I never knew that. Pretty cool.

With some initial testing and some information from here (Goat) and ingame (Leafiara), I'm finding the following for creature levels. This is for characters wanting to know what to hunt in Lich's Landing.
Main Streets
These appear to be 35 and lower levels, perhaps 25-35?
skeleton
phantom
ghoul
Blacksmith
25-35?
dark shade
bone golem
spectral blacksmith
The Darkness With Inn
ghoul - 35
krolvin corpse - 40
wight - 45
Corpse Row
zombie - 50
dark spirit - 55
cadaver - 60
Barracks
bone soldier - 65 (note: disarm)
phantom warrior - 70 (note: disarm)
death giant - 75
Banshee Tower
80 - 90?
pale specter - 80 (rarely a huge AS boost)
flesh construct - 85
moaning banshee - 90 (huge AS boost, beware!)
Outer citadel
golem: 95
wraith: 100
shricken: 105
Inner Citadel
horror: 110
knight: 115
apparition: 120
Add/Correct as needed please.
Reminder: creatures can vary in levels a bit, up or down.

Looks like the soldiers in the Barraks disarm as well, not to mention they use charge as well.
A decaying bone soldier swings a splintered lance at your villswood runestaff and connects!
A decaying bone soldier fails to knock the runestaff away!
*edit*
Heres the appraise info from my level 67 wizard:
The death giant is large in size and about twelve feet high in its current state.
You would probably be able to take on the giant, but with some risk to your health.
The bone soldier is medium in size and about six feet high in its current state.
You think you'd have a slight advantage over the soldier.
The phantom warrior is medium in size and about six feet high in her current state.
The warrior would have a slight advantage over you.
*edit*
FYI the warriors can boost their attack strength:
A shimmering phantom warrior swings a tarnished flail at you!
AS: +355 vs DS: +518 with AvD: +44 + d100 roll: +27 = -92
A clean miss.
A shimmering phantom warrior swings a tarnished flail at you!
AS: +507 vs DS: +548 with AvD: +44 + d100 roll: +44 = +47
A clean miss.

Adding a few more details:
In Corpse row, the Zombies are reskinned zombies (surprise!), the dark spirits are reskinned moaning spirits and can instakill you if you're knocked down by their call wind. Not sure what the cadavers are, but they seem to be swinging only -- no maneuvers or spells.
In the barracks, the bone soldiers are reskinned skeletal lords, and the phantom warriors are reskinned spectral warriors (aka "pain in the arses", at least if you're a swinger -- noncorporeal undead in plate armor with a banshee-style vanish, and disarming to boot).

Rumours from down the GM pipeline are stating there's a way to ressurrect the Lich King Barnom Slim and fight him. not sure about loot or details...stay tuned.

Main Streets
These appear to be 35 and lower levels, perhaps 25-35?
skeleton
phantom
ghoul
These all appraised as too easy for the likes of my level 43 self.
The Darkness With Inn
ghoul - 35
krolvin corpse - 40
wight - 45
These look about right. The wight had a TD of 148 with no spells that wore off on death so....I don't know, mid-40s seems right. Ghoul had 224 AS/105 TD, corpse 266 AS/117 TD, and wight 227 CS and fuck you-boil earth.
Blacksmith
40 - 50?
dark shade
bone golem
spectral blacksmith
These also appraised as too easy for the likes of me. I take that messaging to mean 10 or more levels under you so they're 33 or less.
