Feastday, the 12th day of Phoenatos (August 12th) will see the return of Elanthian Fashion Week. Since the festivities start at the end of the Frontier Days celebrations, the sponsors have decided to hold the launch party in the impressive setting of the Wehnimer's Landing Museum. Expect the champagne to flow freely and the conversation to be convivial.

Restday (August 13th) is likely to be anything but restful! The week will start with the first in a series of lectures, presentations, and discussions. Bring a notebook and embark on an educational journey over the next 8 days where you will learn all there is to know about fashion - practical and ostentatious - as well as the intricacies of alterations, merchant etiquette, and accessorizing. Delve into the secrets of Nalfein fans, the magical properties of gems, and traditional hairstyles of the Dhe'nar. Familiarize yourself with the subtleties of cultural hunting and fishing attire, the latest trends in the Elven court, and the art of masquerade.

Volnes (August 14th) will see the launch of a 5-day shoe sale in Ta'Illistim, with the chance to pick up the latest in fashionable footwear at bargain prices and new stock added daily. Throughout the rest of the week you will also get the chance to relax and have some fun. There will be fast-paced games like Greedy Gremlins, Style Scramble, and Picture This, along with more leisurely activities such as fishing, fortune telling, and scrapbooking. All with fashion in mind, of course! You can also expect to see cobbling wares and other merchandise for sale. Listen out for announcements!

As the week draws to a close the fun really picks up a pace! On the evening of Day of the Huntress (August 18th), Ebonstone Manor will be the setting for a battle of epic proportions. Bring your siegery miniatures and take on some of Elanthia's fashionable elite in Fashion Wars!

We're not finished yet! The main event of the week will be a Fashion Showcase on the afternoon of Feastday, the 19th day of Phoenatos (August 19th) in the Ebonstone Manor Ballroom, where everyone will have the opportunity to show off their creative talents on the catwalk. The choice of themes for this year's Fashion Week are Shabby Chic, Metallic Mastery, Sugar and Spice, and Woodland Walks. Each entry will be judged according to how well it's presented on the runway and the interpretation of the chosen theme for the coveted "Chalat Award". Sign-up sheets will be available on the day so come dressed ready and be prepared to put your best foot forward.

Restday, the 20th day of Phoenatos (August 20th) will see the festivities draw to a close but not before the presentation and auction of the Pantheon Collection: a unique collection of Arkati-themed outfits in hallowed surroundings. Interested parties should gather in Solhaven's Liabo Plaza where they will spend the afternoon being escorted to secret locations around the town. Later that evening, Elanthian Elegance will be hosting a cocktail party in the elegant setting of Lily Manor's Museum of Fashion History to review the week's events, reminisce about the runway scene, and discuss ideas for next season's programme.

It’s almost here! Fashion Week 5117 kicks off at 6.00pm tomorrow evening with a Champagne Reception in the Alcove of Wehnimer’s Landing Museum. Enjoy a glass of champagne or two and learn more about the events being held during the week. Don’t forget to pick up your copy of the programme and enter the raffle for a chance to win a very special fan.

The raffle will be set up later tonight at the Museum entrance in Erebor Square (lich # 235) and will draw during the reception. From the Grand Lobby, take the staircase to the upper floor and go through the black marble arch to reach the alcove (lich # 24591).

This is a formal occasion so please try to dress accordingly i.e. avoid blood-stained armor or weaponry and definitely no pet rodents! You’re cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

At 8.00pm, Silvergate Inn will be opening the doors to their Golden Rose Spa for an evening of pampering with manicures, face painting, and henna art. Followed at 10.00pm by a discussion on appropriate dress and etiquette for social occasions with the Mentors of Silverwood Manor.

After the glitz and glamor of the champagne reception, Fashion Week will be starting the week proper with the first in a series of Breakfast Lectures. The fun kicks off tomorrow morning at 10.00am with coffee, cake, and a lecture on the do’s and don’ts of alteration work, to be delivered by a guest speaker from Elanthian Elegance. This will be held in the Landing Hall, Auditorium (lich # 385, go door, west, go oak door). Please note that this will be an IC discussion on how to tackle alters with hints and tips on making the most of your time with a merchant. All OOC questions should be kept to group whispers wherever possible.

At 2.00pm, there will be an informal discussion about trends in the elegant surroundings of the refurbished Atelier in Elaraeyn's Boutique (lich # 24595). Refreshments will again be provided and we are expecting a special guest so come prepared with something that’s tired or outdated and hopefully leave with something fashionable!

At 4.00pm, House Sylvanfair will be playing a few rounds of their popular game, Greedy Gremlins. Gather in the Grove (lich # 8753, go west) for some fashion-themed fun, more refreshments and the chance to win some special prizes.

Later that evening there will be a chance to relax with a spot of fishing at the Gypsy Compound in Solhaven as well as a talk on fashionable fishing attire with the Gypsy Troupe at 8.00pm. The fun doesn’t end there as the Mentors invite you to join them in the Silverwood Manor to round off the day. Test your creative skills with a fun and fast-paced game of Picture This! at 10.00pm.

In addition, there is a cart selling cobbling supplies for all your fashionable footwear needs in the Sylvanfair Grove (lich # 8753, go west).

Be sure to wake up early tomorrow morning for the next in the series of Breakfast Lectures. This time the discussion will be on the Art of Accessorizing and Elanthian Elegance will be delving into the delights of jewelry. Grab some coffee and cake in the Landing Hall Auditorium at 10am sharp! (Assemble in the Courtyard #385 and your speaker will escort you inside)

Shoes, shoes and more shoes! The Looking Glass will be opening the doors of their sponsor’s shop in the Ta’Illistim, Mzaarine Bazaar (lich # 731, go cottage). The launch event (Shoe Love is True Love) at 3.00pm will unveil the first collection of hand-crafted footwear featuring the theme of Shabby Chic. Come early to avoid disappointment.

At 9.00pm, Moonstone Abbey will be hosting Trine-Bond, a fashion-themed trivia game. Listen out for announcements as to the location of the tent in the Landing.

Yet more shoes! The second collection of hand-crafted footwear featuring the theme of Metallic Mastery will be available. Each unique pair is stamped with the special mark of The Looking Glass for added flare. Head over to shop in Ta’Illistim (lich # 731 cottage) and pick up a pair to complete your ensemble for the Fashion Showcase or Masquerade Ball on Feastday!

Fashion Week moves briefly to the warmer climes of Mist Harbor where footwear is optional. At 4.00pm, The Looking Glass will be hosting “Creating a Fashion Folio” on the Patio of Misty's Teas Cafe on Western Harbor (#17606). Enjoy tea in the sunshine while participating in a relaxing hour of scrapbooking. Folios, parchment, and quills will be provided, just bring your creative skills and anything you would like to share with the group!

The fun starts later tomorrow at 6.00pm with Style Scramble. Can you create a stylish outfit on a budget or track down fashionable items in a hurry? The Looking Glass will be holding a fun game in the Landing Hall Garden (#385) where you will be given a theme or task and a set time in which to complete it. There’s only one catch: all the items you purchase MUST be from the local stores or traders in town. You might want to familiarize yourself with the inventory of local shops (https://gswiki.play.net/Category:Boutique_Shops) or carts beforehand.

Obsidian Tower will be presenting traditional hairstyles of the Dhe'nar with a Q&A session. Join them in the Hearthstone Courtyard at 8.45pm promptly for an escort to the Tower. Shortly afterwards, at 10.00pm, the Lorekeepers of Silverwood Manor invite you to put your proverbial creative hat on and join them in coming up with ideas for … hats!

a black clockface mask with diamond-tipped hands
an ecru silk mask decorated with curls of sheet music
a horned red leather mask with ebon-whorled cheeks

a gaily painted porcelain mask in jewel-toned colors
a white silk mask dripping with crystalline teardrops

NEWS FLASH: War has been declared on the fashionistas! The fun begins in the Ebonstone Manor Ballroom (portals are available in every town CHE annex) at 7.00pm when some of Elanthia’s fashionable elite will be dressed and ready to do battle. Those wishing to compete should bring their siegery miniatures and sign up. If you don’t have a mini, don’t worry, we’ll have spares.

Before that though, there will be another Breakfast Lecture at 10am in the Landing Hall Auditorium (gathering in the Courtyard #385) with coffee and cake to start the day. This time our guest speaker will be discussing the ladies Joola and Veola and their wonderful creations.

Don’t forget to enter the raffle while you there, as well as the two set up outside on the North Ring Road.. In my soporific state last night, I completely forgot to mention the Art of the Fan Dance at 9.45pm. Join the Black Hand Trading Co. for a discussion and presentation on the art of communicating -- a skill often seen in fashionable Nalfein court circles. Avoid the urge to join the bloodshed in the Duskruin Arena for just an hour or so and look for the black tent just outside the East Tower in the Landing. Enter the raffle to win one of the lovely fans being displayed too!

Rise and shine fashionistas! It’s time to get your sashay on and strut your stuff on the runway. The doors to the Ebonstone Manor Ballroom* will open at 3.00pm for registration or to grab a good seat for the show.

Your entry will be judged on presentation (how well you present your outfit on the runway through verb use etc.) and interpretation of the theme. As a reminder, the choice of themes for this year’s Fashion Showcase are Shabby Chic, Metallic Mastery, Sugar and Spice, and Woodland Walks. Whilst there is no time limit – we don’t want to stifle your creativity – we do ask that you aim for maximum impact in as short a time as possible please; leave the audience wanting more!

The winner will walk away with the coveted Chalat Award so come and support any friends and family who are participating, or just come for the spectacle.

Before that however, the last in the series of Breakfast Lectures will be held in the Landing Auditorium. We’ll be gathering in the Courtyard (#385) at 10am and enjoying coffee and cake before we learn more about masks. Don’t forget to enter the raffle while you there as it draws shortly afterwards and then stop by at the wagon parked on the North Ring to buy your very own mask for the ball later.

At 1pm, there will be an informal gathering in the Ebonstone Manor ballroom to chat with fellow collectors of Delirium Manor’s Whax Dolls. Bring along your spare parts and accessories to exchange or simply come to show your fashionably dressed (or not) doll!

Following the Showcase, at 9.00pm, it’s time to dress up again as the Alliance of High Elven Society invite you to dance the night away at their Masquerade Ball.

Similarly, the cart selling cobbling supplies in the Sylvanfair Grove (lich # 8753, go west) will be packed up tonight, as well as the mask wagon on the North Ring Road (lich # 287).

Fashion Week will draw to a close at 6.00pm with a cocktail reception at Lily Manor (lich # 3758, go gate). Guests are invited to gather in the elegant surroundings of the Museum of Fashion History to recollect the week’s events, recall the runway scene, and discuss next season’s trends. There will be a final raffle for a case of assorted nail polish. The tickets sell for only 10,000 silvers and the draw will take place at around 7.00pm. The winner must be present at the drawing to collect their prize.

Before that though, you are invited to gather in Solhaven’s Liabo Plaza at 2.00pm as The Looking Glass proudly presents The Pantheon Collection. A collection of unique Arkati-themed gowns and accessories will be unveiled in their respective hallowed temples and gardens and duly auctioned. Expect to be escorted along the Liabo Esplanade and Lornon Avenue to undisclosed locations where each of the outfits will be modelled in turn and bidding will begin.

Bah, I've done it again.

I forgot to mention that the Order of the Sphere and Scythe will be gathering in Solhaven's Liabo Plaza at 4.00pm for Fashionable Fortunes. Join them for a brief lecture on the Sylvankind lore regarding magical properties of some gems in Elanthia commonly used in jewelry and clothing adornments. This event is geared toward both the spiritually and fashionably inclined!

Fashion Week has come to an end and I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone. I would like to give a particular mention to the following though:

Members of Elanthian Elegance and The Looking Glass for going along with my insane idea in the first place and letting me do it all over again.

All the CHEs, MHOs, and Mentors who helped to host fantastic events and raffles during the week and made it the success it was.

GMs Elidi and Elysani for their endless patience with my constant demands for calendar entries, criers, raffle tables, props and, of course, the glossy booklet! You two are simply amazing and we are so lucky to have you supporting us.

Airisu, Oirisu, Farain for allowing me to use their fashionable prowess in Fashion Wars! You will have your revenge next year, I promise.

GM Valyrka for honouring the Fashion Showcase Chalat Award winners with their names on a statue to be placed in the Museum Alerreth soon. Congratulations to Nihrvanah for winning it this year!
