gos versus voln

I really like to hunt with spells. I know with gos i would be able to do that well. I like voln for many things as well. I have like 4.6m favor so would be very painful for me to leave voln. Eventually I can train spells and stuff up enough to use most spells, but that will take a while..

A couple people want to respond with the best pluses and minuses of one versus the other!!

For me, it is a character thing, well that and I never want to Master GoS again. Having mastered all 3, it is without question the most grueling, my paladin would literally die 6 and 8 times a day in camps. Having said that I do not regret it because GoS combined with Paladin abilities is a very large plus, more so than any other combination I have found. But I have also have numerous alts in Voln, again, mostly because that is who they are, so I say chose for who they are, not what might or might not be mechanically superior. My CoL alts, sadly do not play their society at all, because, well, there is nothing to play, more is the pity.

Yeah, and I just recently had the opposite experience. Madmountan is a lunatic, V'tullian berserking warrior. Warcamps are his legit element. In the last week, I left Sunfist, and joined Voln. I mastered it in 40 hours and at least 2.9 mil Favor. Hunted in Voln hunting areas for 2 days, said "Nope, this isn't for me, this is not who Madmountan is, popped a society reset, and promptly went back to Sunfist (which took me a longer 47 hours to re-master).

Madmountan is GoS all the way. I just needed to learn that the hard way.

Camps are great for warriors. I always recommend GoS for warriors simply because it "feels" the most warrior like.

Volns seeking and group transport are the best thing it has, but limited always by how much undead you hunt. If you run reim or are constantly hunting undead and have favor, volns for you.

Gos on the other hand doesn't require anything except Mana a d Stam. If you have both you simply keep running gos till your hearts content. Really the best thing with gos is that you're not bound by the types of mobs you hunt.

One of the Hand's Reim farm nights netted me 3m favor in 2 hours, it was insane.

Personally I find the favor pool one of the pluses of voln. I am not limited by stamina or mana totals and I can use my stamina for cmans and berserk and mana for kroderine. I can spam symbol of restoration always as long as I have the favor.

I did the math in another thread, but cap is the easiest time to master VOLN, and earn favor. This is based on gains and does not factor in hunting grounds. Favor can always be farmed super easy.

Symbol of sleep is pretty impressively powerful also.

Beldannon, if you lose voln transport you may want to get some more survival skills for navigating to different areas, it may be a good test to spend a couple days getting around without it to see if that causes you any issues.

I like GoS for my warrior much more than when I was in voln. Sigil of determination is great to make sure your cman effectiveness is not reduced if you scratch your elbow. Man I miss Symbol of seeking sometimes, though.

Yeah for me the symbol of restoration (maybe there's a gos equviliant) symbol of seeking which I actually just started using so not that attached to it. Symbol of sleep which I found recently I would miss.
