a bit of advice?

I have a level 24 giant (yeah yeah I know) wizard. I want to go archery because I'm too cheap to buy wands constantly with his naturally lower spell AS and mana will be be an issue until the 40s as a pure. I've got 2 options on how to train him. I can go 1.2x harness and will get Elemental targetting at level 25 or I can hold off and be a true 2x in spells and be 2x harness. I'm leaning towards the first option due to the lower AS I currently experience.. With celerity he already has hit the 1 second unaimed RT with a longbow singled in air lore. Any thoughts?

At 28 my warmage with a bow has no mana issues and I am 1x to my level and not 1x +1. 425 is bonkers for Your AS and I would say that's a definite goal. Whirlins guide is amazing I would look at that for guidance. My personal needs changed what spells I wanted but I stuck hard to his 425 plan and I rip through grey mist in tears with no problems

Make some free to play characters as mules (they can only hold 100 items) then I can make you as many free 40 wave wands as you like.

Don't know if this might help, but I used duplicate (918) on all usable wands I find on my wizard when they were at your level. Between the extra wands, mana leech and society powers, it was good enough to satisfy my own need for wands. Sometimes I'd use 917 to kill stuff instead of using bolts, and depends on the target and your training it can be more mana efficient than bolts.

Wands? You don't need no stinkin' wands. 80's archer and I have exactly 0 SA ranks. 1 sec. arrow storm til they die. Still want to use spells? Immolation and Earthen Fury are still feasible. I only singled in harness, no mana issues.

You gotta understand that you may not be as effective against certain creatures being ranged so pick and choose what you hunt. Nearly everything on Teras is fair game for you. The only creatures you'll probably have to skip are wind wraiths and soul golems. Kiramon and beetles are kind of resistant to puncturing, but not terrible. If you're doubling in perception, as you should be, you'll be able to eye crit stuff pretty regularly in your 50-60's when you augment your perception with 402 and 404.

Ranged/Dex enhancives are your friend.

For 20 years the only characters I've ever rolled and played seriously were giants. I've been here off and on but I think my last break was the longest 8-10 years. I remember quitting too long after my last simucon (when I was a Dragonrealms player) and that simucon was in 2007. I won't even explain my reasons for coming back there'd either be pity or someone calling me stupid from what I've seen on this forum. I think that giant will remain more or less a support character which he's always sort of been and I'll probably focus on the little sylvan wizard I rolled up for archery for shits and giggles.
