Travel to RR from Solhaven?

Would anyone care to help me with how to travel to RR from Solhaven? It's been ages since I was to RR and the last time I went I traveled across the boot....

I'd appreciate any help/spoilers for the puzzle, thanks.

talk to locksmith jim in marshtown for a ticket, then head over to the docks(forget exactly which one) but the cutter will come every so often. Sorry I cant give more details but thats all I remember.

talk to jyhm (SE of the path you climb to the broken tower) about a ticket.. he'll quote a price and you gotta have that many silvers on you.

Then you go to glok's pier (which is in marshtown two west of the bridge) and wait for the cutter

Sometimes it doesn't pick anyone up, so you gotta be patient. Usually it announces that it pulled in if you're inside the city.

Once in RR, you need to talk to Percy for a ticket to get back (its half as much as the ticket to get there) and get back on (through the weeds south of the path out of the commons)

And bet on the roaches! 5 to 1 payoffs!

A few other things to remember about the cutter.

Yes, you talk to Jyhm (of Jhym, can never remember how it's spelled), get the ticket and get to Glok's Pier.

Once there, the cutter will dock twice on each end. First, to drop off passengers from River's Rest. That time, you will not be able to board. After a few minutes, the cutter will pull out. About 30-60 minutes later, it will come back, and that's when you board.

Same thing happens when you board in River's Rest.

Also, there's a fish at the pier. If you touch it, you'll get a sense of where the cutter is. I've heard that it's not entirely accurate, though.

Cost in silvers is about 1/2 level x 10k

So to get to RR it took my 36 train girl 18k in silver.

The fish says things like "coming soon, not too far..." so it's an idea only.

One more question I forgot to ask....it looks like with so much water one might need a fair amount of swimming to go to certain parts of RR...is this the case?

My 34 train rogue has only 7 ranks of swimming...I hope I don't need more.

You'll be fine with 7 ranks of swiming.

Climbing is another issue. But you don't NEED to climb. It just makes it easier.

Is the cutter like the Glaesan Star in that you board whether or not you are in game? or do I have to stand here and wait?

I'm standing on the pier and the cutter just dropped off (noone actually)....so do I have to wait here the half/hour until it comes back? :?:

I think it's 15 ranks of climb to make it up the hill in the underground lake, to the Hisskra. And you have to be logged in to be punted from the cutter, or you're stuck there until you log back in, and have to guess which way it's going.

16 ranks to do the climb. and you can just swim down and go through an opening if you cant climb. also 7 ranks should be fine, and most people there are willing to give you water walking which is great (note: if you cant make the climb, do NOT get water walking, as you cant swim down to the opening)

also, in case you cant find the locksmith, from north market,

n,nw,u,nw,nw,nw,w,n,nw,w,w, go storefront, ask jhym ( i think thats the spelling) about ticket

i think its 1/2 level x 1000 silver

then o,e,e,se,s,w,go pier

rubbing the fish helps in telling where the cutter is

Then how do you get back to solhaven from RR?
