View Full Version : Possible Suggestion for the game

hello

Not sure what everyone else thinks but I think it would be nice if we had a way to insert silvers for mass spells (only) for everyone in the town centrals of every major city. For example, in TSC in the Landing, if the well gets 15,000 silvers total (from however many people) the tree would glow for 2 minutes allowing anyone touching it a suite of mass spells (blurs, ele III and colors).

For situations for people who play on off-hours or when things are slow but there are a ton of newbies asking for mass spells this can be useful as well as allowing for a silver sink.

Sounds like a good idea for every town. Also (been saying it for years) a bard npc like the locksmith would be great.

I have always thought of having a town wizard to pay for spellups would be great but I think mechanically speaking it would make the game "too easy" for non capped or spell restricted area's. I think especially at low levels with the access to those kinds of spells *even just the core massies* it makes like level hunting area's significantly easier. Defeats the purpose of the hunting grounds if they pose no challenges. Maybe putting a half day cool down on it could help alleviate the mechanics issue and or only allowing up an hour of those spells. Something to balance it.

Hunting area's at like level are survivable for any class, some easier to hunt than others. It shouldn't be easy in certain area's and I know each class has their own set of growing pains levels but it's just a method of the game.

It'll never happen.

If people could pay silvers for all the wizard spells they would lose so many spell bot accounts.

I'd be happy if Col signs would fall off at the same time.(10sec/lvl)

I'd be happy to renew them before they fell off and just have the cost kick in at the renewal.

More invasions. More storyline action. More capped hunting grounds.

Ta'Illistim has an NPC merchant that comes with a cart every so often selling common off-the-shelf spells.

Grabbed from a PC post a long time ago: "Nindon whispers, "A delicate pink carnation wristlet (7000, 5 rubs 509), a pale lavender orchid pendant (9000, 12 rubs 202), some twisted blue valerian (6500, 16 rubs 103), a ring of white moonflowers (5500, 8 rubs 206), a silvery lily pin (7000, 10 rubs 205), a braided headband of red begonias (5000, 4 rubs 911), a long-stalked sunflower (6000, 20 rubs 601), a bracelet of ivory daisies (3000, 3 rubs 414), a thin blue gardenia anklet (5500, 7 rubs 207), a necklace of scented heather (5000, 4 rubs 511), a long iris pendant (9000, 4 rubs 211), a spread of pale grape leaves (2000, 3 rubs 113) and a strip of black willow bark (5000, 3 rubs 114, don't wear)."

Be careful what you wish for. Any changes to CoL would undoubtedly bring a round of serious nerfs.

It's why I should use bold face. I'm not talking about all spells I'm speaking specifically about 3 common mass spells (guards, blurs, colors) which on usual primetime is easy enough to get free. For, new players especially it's a crazy life saver although I know you high level players so used to it don't really 'feel the diff' from these common spells anymore.

Permanent silver based light/deep automated merchant in each town. Acts as a silver sink, free's up GM time, provides a service everyone needs after/during each event. Not overly disruptive to game balance (maybe armor lightening but not crazily so).

This is the single most retarded thing I have read this year probably. And I frequent the politics folder. Stop making new threads like the douchebag you are.

There's also a lot to be said about the community making the game.

Making duplicative threads, trolling other threads, and purposefully stirring up shit and derailing in threads is not making the community any better. If you really wanted to make gemstone a more successful game, you'd stop posting. You're shittier than simu's F2P model.

Oh good, an active blight on the community seeks out new players. That can only spell good things for the longevity of the game.

This thread is just an attempted rehashing of the wizard drama that occurred over enchanting at duskruin. It's pretty unimaginative, and obvious that it was just meant to look to piggyback off of that drama of replacing professions' stuff with automation.

Not when newbies suffer for it.

It's OK if a thread is mostly based upon me or my shenanigans, but a serious thread dealing with Newbie players or just generally making the game better should be sacrosanct regardless of who brought it up.

Strongly considering parking a sub'd 20 something wiz and plant him at TSC, any protective spell 100 silvers per level whisper what you want.

If I had my old server (which in theory I can have up 24/7) I would jump at this.

Might I suggest reading POLICY 18? In particular:

For the purpose of this policy, a character "bot" is defined as any character that is either responsive or unresponsive to the gaming environment that uses any sort of trigger which can be executed by third parties to perform automatic "services" (e.g., healing, lock picking, spell casting, etc.).

Any participation in the use of character "bots" witnessed by Staff, even if the unresponsive character(s) is not connected to your account, will be considered against policy and result in a warning and or other penalties. For example, if you knowingly activate a script run by another character who is unresponsive (such as set up to cast spells when "tapped"), you will receive a warning for scripting abuse.

Read what kcostell posted more carefully, it doesn't really matter if he's responsive or not. I think the policy is idiotically defined; and yes tgo's drwavenings are quite awesome.

I did read it. But definition, yes, they are bots, but and this is the key thing, it specifically calls out UNRESPONSIVE bot use. HUGE difference. Perhaps you should reread it yourself.

Policy 18 contradicts itself so often.

First it defines bot as a character that is responsive or unresponsive to the gaming environment , but then twice it goes on to only mention it being against policy if the "bot" is unresponsive.

This is why those services where you tap someone at a Dreavening only last about 15 minutes before the event starts, I think the GMs don't mind short bursts of this type of "botting" (as long as you're not doing it afk), they would be against someone sitting there for hours on end offering these services.

But then again who knows. Maybe one day we'll all wake up and half the game has been banned :O

chalion

Seems very straight forward to me. You can basically automate anything you want, as long as you are in front of the computer and respond to the environment. If the GM comes down and say "hey fuck face what are you doing?" and you say "I'm playing gemstonez fool!" they just say "good job" and scurry along.

Hence why I said it was idiotically defined. It defines bot by responsive or unresponsive as long as it uses a trigger to activate some service then proceeds to state that said bot is against policy... then implies it needs to be unresponsive.

One can reasonably assume that what Simu is trying to say is since you are using a trigger to get an automated response from said bot character then that bot character is implied being unresponsive.

I'd like a way maybe to pay more for awhile some how to lvl up faster. I know its always been slow and stuff and people think it would ruin the game. But honestly. With a job and other stuff. I may be dead before I reach lvl cap. Everyone is getting older. This game wont last forever. New players aren't going to invest years of their lives into this. I play mostly for the love of the game. But at 10 hours a week. Its going to be a hell of a long time before I cap my guy. I Thought about buying a capped guy, But I have had the same dude since 98 he is like 60 I don't want to let him go.
