Well 12 days later and I am still WITHOUT my F%^%$#%^ing luggage. I have called Delta everyday and they still have no information on my damned bags.

I hate Delta, period.

How long do you have to wait until they send you a fat check for your inconvenience?

My co-worker had her luggage missplaced and she recived $1500.00 for her trouble but I'm not sure how long she had to wait until she got it resolved.

They told me that they can only reimburse me 25 dollars per day with a max of 5 days for me having to buy clothes. That would have been 375 dollars but they stated they would only go as high as 300. We spent 500 dollars so I guess chalk the 200 bucks in the trash.

As far as lost/gone entered the great abyess of hell that my luggage seems to have fallen into I can file a claim in 30 days about my losses and I was told they would go as high as 2500 dollars if they never find my luggage. Considering how they have handled this I am not looking forward to anything.

I am also supposed to produce reciepts for all of the items I would be claiming. Ahh sure I have those for my clothes and my work related items etc. Have I mentioned how much I hate Delta?

According to their form, you only have to attach receipts for any individual item that cost over $250. However, it says you only have 21 days, so file your claim now. Don't wait.

Include every single thing you lost. Include your underwear, socks, shampoo, presents, makeup, Qtips, lotion, everything. You'll be surprised how quickly it adds up. If you hit the $2500 limit, ignore it.

Additionally, I'd contact your credit card and homeowner's insurance to see if either of them cover this.

Good luck :( Sorry they screwed it up so badly.

This is why you should always carry at least one change of clothes in your carry-on as well. this has been a life saver a couple of times.

Carry-on is the way to go. I can pack 10 days worth of clothes in one of those bad boys and they still fit into the overhead compartment. The secret: ROLL up your clothes, don't fold them. You'll double the storage capacity that way.

In the past 5 years, the only time I've had to bring a big suitcase was when we went on a cruise.

You might want to consider the possibility that someone stole your bag, by the way. It isn't that hard to do; they only check bags coming IN, they don't check them going out. Delta isn't responsible for that, unfortunately.

I've never had a problem with delta or Song, other than the fact that they're gazzillion pound objects that are flying unnaturally in the air. Other than that I've always gotten da luggage.

Until I started flying with kids in tow I did carry an overnight bag with a change of clothes and my bath/hair items. Seeing as I already felt like a pack mule toting the 2 backpacks the kids WERE supposed to be carrying, my purse the digital camera/video camera bag I didn't have an extra arm for the overnight bag as well.

Jet Blue rocks.

You don't get a meal, but you could always pack a lunch/dinner AND you get unlimited snacks and alcohol free beverages from them. You also get your own TV and free headphones (you could also bring your own headphones if you prefer), and the flight attendants are super nice.

I don't see myself ever going back to SW unless Jet Blue isn't flying to where I'm going.

Sorry about the loss of your luggage Bratt...I hope it gets returned to you soon.

Here is a very skeptical me in the airport waiting for my flight to get back home. I told the ticket agent who checked in my bags that if this luggage got lost I was more then likely to snap!
