D2 will be available for PC so I'd go with that option, especially if you have a good gaming PC. Also, I'd only buy the game itself, preordering videogames/DLC is something that no one should be doing, especially these days.

I'll be getting it on PC. Have a few work friends who already play and are making the platform jump. I'm glad they're doing a beta. I'll know right away if i'll like it or not.

It's fun for a bit, but they don't release content fast enough.

It's a grind like any MMO. You're in a constant grind for weapons and weapon upgrades.

I never found the gear grind to be all that bad in Destiny. As long as you know where to go and what to do you could always reach the max light level pretty fast, at least compared to many other games. Full-auto Dis 43 scout rifles for life.

I was fine with it being on battle.net until I found out that it isn't using Acti/Bliz dedicated servers and likely won't be using the level of anti-cheat found in Overwatch. Peer-to-Peer means hackfest even with the best intentions. Too much information stored player-side.

Yes and no.

Technically there is a plot, but its not in game really. there are grimore cards and the story and plot was found on them, but just playing through the game didnt really have one. One of the changes they are making is to get rid of those cards and incorporate the story into the game.

I don't see why they wouldn't. It is a new game, not an expansion. They can either keep expanding a level cap and make the barrier of entry higher, or just start it all over again like pretty much every other game ever. They'll probably have some bonuses for blank from Destiny 1, but not much else.

I would assume that a dodge maneuver would grant you i-frames, at the very least. I mean, yeah I can get behind cover quickly but if I get lit the fuck up and die because the dodge is garb-o... doesn't really help.

I really hope they tweak some of the abilities before launch. Supers take way to long to charge - as do the grenades, and the grenade power has been nerfed.

Waiting on the PC Beta which I guess starts next month. There's speculation that a lot won't change for the PC beta build, but the Devs are promising to make big changes from the feedback of the beta. I've also read they've said the beta build is over a month old and many of the complaints have already been addressed.

Unfortunately, until they separate out PvP balance from PvE neither will feel fantastic.

Unfortunately they probably won't. They didn't do that the first time around even though it ruined some aspects of the game and tons of people bitched about it.

Played the open beta on PS4 a bit... looks somewhat better, shoots the same. Nothing really felt new. I'll try it again on PC to gauge the graphics (since that's where I'd be playing it) but I'm definitely waiting for reviews.

Huge understatement. Hunters are grossly under-powered. Their supers are underwhelming. It takes 4 shots of GOLDEN GUN to drop enemy heavies.

The new staff super is also awful and the melee is lacking power. In both the available classes. Oh and their dodge technique has no I-frames.

Super huge levels of anger at how awful they are.

I played the beta, and the Warlock felt like shit. The movement is incredibly clunky, especially coming from Titanfall 2. The Warlock's fire sword ult thing also felt increeedibly clunky.

3-4 hours for main campaign. Didn't take me long to get to 240 light for nightfalls.

Yeah, the current story is pretty short. You can pad that by doing all the auxiliary adventures which are usually related to the story in some loose way.

Nightfall is pretty tough at 240. You're better off waiting until 280 I think.
