View Full Version : Randomness of sign duration.

This is based on the assumption that signs all work under the same durations namely 10s or so per level.

This is nothing new to my perception but it seems to violates some other's views on how signs work, but there is an additional random element added to durations, the below log is just one example of the variance. And the order in which they dropped is not similar nor is the time lag between dropping similar. I've seen as much as 30s pass. I cut a lot from the log but nothing but misc text all round times are intact.

I can supply other logs if needed, any other interpretations are welcome.

I've noticed this as well. My signs NEVER drop in order as they were applied, sometimes there is a HUGE gap in the signs dropping, which drives me nuts, because I won't reactivate them till all of them drop.

Dude, it's not completely random... it's approximately 10 seconds per level with a small random component built in. Cry about it if you don't like it, or join Voln.

:yeahthat:

I always wait to reactivate them at once (or try to wait).. which can lead to me taking some bad hits.

I just have a macro set up to reup the signs, when one drops I hit it and just repeat for the others.

Why do you guys wait for them all to wear off before putting them back on?

It's an obsessive type thing I suppose.
I hate having to hit random signs during combat, instead, I just hold off till all of them drop, and then reactivate them.
I always have.

Because COL signs aren't refreshable... DUH!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: Oh wait, I misread that... you guys R dumb if you wait til they all fall off to refresh. ESP if you are using dissipation, swords and shields... 3 spirit loss + 35 DS loss + 20 TD loss =

FUCKING PWNED!!!!!!!!1111111111

I don't. With the mana ones anyway, mine don't last long enough yet for the spirit based ones, I'll lose AS from SP loss.

And Banana man, no one is whining I have no problem with it, I posted because a pack of fools on psinet don't think they are random. This was posted in the hopes that would STFU at least about this particular topic.

<whine>

If they would just frontload spirit loss like good little non-conformists, there would be no more world hunger!

And if they made them refreshable... that would bring world peace too.

</whine>

L - yes I know they can't frontload spirit loss for balance reasons... blah

I've noticed that my signs don't drop in order if they drop while I am hunting, but if I am resting they seem to drop in order everytime. I dont wait for them all to fall to redo them.. I too, have a macro that just does em all at one time.

I have a macro for four battle mana ones, I only use the spirit ones for special occasions. (Dark elf :rolleyes: )

They do seem to drop pretty randomly, I can see it being a pain in the ass if I didn't do them all at once, but meh.
