OK, but anyhow I was wondering dontcha think it's time we raise the level limits for using magical weapons and armor across the board? It feels like that these level limits are completely irrelevant nowadays. Maybe a look into the matter might be useful?

Why is krodera lumped with 7x at level 70? It doesn't do anything except for the few sets of krodera full plate.

What do you mean by functioning? There were four (I think) sets of krodera plate in the Spider Temple when it opened. They're 4x and +20 TD. But krodera in general does nothing unless a GM specifically gives it properties.

I like level requirements but not hard ones. I'd rather see people be able to use whatever item they want but properties of said item don't become unlocked until you reach the level required.

That actually kinda exists too... If you wind up with a 10x item in your hand and you are level 10, you'll only get +20 from it and it'll increase as you level until you are 25. So long as you never put it down.

I would rather see upgrades to existing metals like kroderine. Add another level to unlock (even though I hate unlocks one tier isn't bad) where it allows you to keep a portion of your mana like 25 or 50%.

I'd rather see other metals get attention first. Kroderine already has cool properties but what about golvern? Golvern needs loving too!

Golvern is the strongest metal. Wyrom spoke about making those breakage numbers mean something so... we'll see.

That was just an idea off the top of my head. I would love if other rarer metals get special abilities. I don't think golvern is one of those metals though, its fairly common and should just be the 5x metal.

But I think Wyrom is thinking about temporary breakage based around the breakage numbers. Possibly taking an hour to fix at the forge (costing the slab amount) or turning it in to a NPC smith to fix, taking several hours and 5k per enchant? 10k for flare? 2k per level of weighting? some ideas.

4x gear will last a player years, with breakage artisan skills and class skills become a much higher demand. It also opens the opportunity for future class and artisan development.

Not really trying to hide anything. If I were really trying I would've taken steps to do so, I'm a benign troll if a troll at all. If you go back through my posts, the vast vast bulk of it has pertained to Gemstone positively (apart from F2P criticisms which are completely accurate btw.) I've only continued posting because it was fascinating how people use the term 'troll' to vilify someone who might not have the exact same perspective and have that perspective explode into something that was never warranted in the first place. In many ways, most of the people here have been trolling me. Think on it.

Probably to prevent people from being OP at low levels, but honestly, who gives a crap. If someone is rocking a 10x at level 1 they probably have other high level characters and are just power leveling up.

I'd much rather they spend time making the existing metal properties count for more, than further limiting the number of people who can use them. In a game with a small population, further shrinking the number of people who can use neat stuff makes no sense to me. Lower the requirements on some of the arbitrarily high ones like zelnorn, kroderine, and adamantine.

But first...

1. Apply weight modifiers across the board by metal type to all new equipment. I have no idea when they started to allow anyone to lower the weight of any thing to the item's minimum with no factor for metal, but applying a metal modifier would have been a better choice.

2. Take away the limiting factors from metals that are only fancy in name and have no other (or very weak) special properties. I'm looking at you veil iron, razern, rolaren, and krodera. The paltry benefit that veil iron and krodera both get in lieu of ensorcelling should have never prevented ensorcelling. An effectively 0x ensorcelled item should be easier to ensorcell, not impossible to ensorcell. And razern's pointless light weighting is sad, and like veil iron, does virtually nothing other than limit players from actually doing something with the metal.

3. Dial back the spigot in the treasure hopper. Make golvern great again! And fireleaf, and lor, and veil iron.
