Can anyone give me some tips for subdue, I seem to be horrible at it. Are there blackjacks for sale anywhere, or a weapon more suited to performing the tasks on creatures? I should be avoiding armor with head protection as well I'm guessing... would love some ideas on how to work that skill better than I am now, which isn't much at all.

buy a blackjack, and if you are 'learning' via guild, you can stun, knockdown or otherwise make the target prone before swinging

You can find a list of all critters and their susceptibility to different rogue skills somewhere on the wiki, so figuring out where to go should be easy. I don't know if you can buy a blackjack, but ask around on lich or check out the player shops and I'm sure you'll find one. It just takes patience. You'll be terrible when you first start but as you gain ranks, you'll get way better. It's a huge pain in the ass since it takes so much stamina, plus it's the shittier version of the two on he cman list, but if you're looking to grandmaster, you're stuck with it.

Get a blackjack from a player shop, and use an alt or a friend on some bandits to immobilize one and do your subdues on it. Bandits are relatively soft to subdue in my experience.
