Warhammer Fantasy naval based combat game launched today. Haven't played it or really looked at it but....

I think I know why Total War didn't put in Naval battles (and don't plan to for the second game). I got an E-mail about it from totalwar.com, so Creative Assembly has something to do with this game. I think they just didn't want to compete with themselves.

BTW, if you have Total War Access, it is 40% off.

CA is neither the developer nor publisher and don't own the license to that section of the IP, which is what I said in the other thread you giant turdmongler.

They apparently have something big to do with the game. I didn't say they were either of those, but they have some sort of stake in it.

GW determined who got to work on what license. They didn't want CA to step on Evil Twin Artworks' toes by including naval battles in Total War: Warhammer. If there's cross-promotion of each other's games, it's because they're not competing with one another and fall under the same broad IP. Increased interest in TW:W is good for Man O' War, and vice versa. It's kind of like when CA cross-promoted the Grombrindal DLC with physical GW stores. People might go there, pick up the DLC, and buy some tabletop bullshit on the way out.

Also the game looks kind of bad, but I haven't played it.

40% off is a pretty big discount and only through Total War. I'd say that is a bit more than cross promotion. I imagine we'll see proper Naval battles in TW:W in game 3, when this game isn't really a thing anymore.

The reviews for the game are pretty good, but I don't trust them... Probably still pick it up for $17 though.

it's great except all the men in the game shit constantly and you have to manually wipe each one individually. Bad design, imo. I'll probably still buy SS:JEA to use on my PCE while INSing.
