For sale is a gem messaging box. You put a gem into the box, select the name of a person, then a message. Then the gem is set with a message. The person the message is set for needs to rub the gem and it will release an image of the sender and a message. If anyone else rubs the gem it will turn red. Neat little RP tool for if you want to send secret or select messages. The quality of the gem affects how long the message can be.

*does require some MIU

a small enruned modwir chest banded with thick mithril strips

Inspect:
You carefully inspect your enruned chest.

You estimate that a small enruned modwir chest banded with thick mithril strips can store a very small amount with enough space for one item.

You determine that you could not wear the chest.

You remember that you registered this item many months ago.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of wood.

Analysis:
You analyze your enruned chest and sense that it can be altered by a talented merchant, though it must remain a box-like item.

You notice that there is a switch at the bottom; perhaps TURNing the box might toggle the switch.

Examining the chest carefully, you ascertain that it would fit a single gem in it quite perfectly. Try to RUB it and WHISPER to it. When it seems like everything is ready - and not before then - LISTEN to it. Remember that RUBbing it is what gets the magic going with each step you take!

You can tell that the box is as light as it can get and that its inside space could not possibly get any deeper or larger.

Example (from a previous post):
>put dia in my box
You put an uncut diamond in your ebonwood box.
>close box
You close a simple ebonwood box with delicate vaalin tracery.
>rub box
The ebonwood box warms suddenly in your hands and pulses with magic, as if it were waiting for something.
>whisper box mischung
You clear your mind and focus on the image of Mischung as you whisper the name to your box.
>turn box
You turn the ebonwood box over in your hands and notice a switch recessed into the bottom for the box. With a *Click!* you toggle it left!
>rub box
The ebonwood box warms suddenly in your hands and pulses with magic, as if it were waiting for something.
>whisper box Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope!
You clear your mind and focus on the message as you whisper, "Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope!" to your box.
>get dia
You remove an uncut diamond from in your ebonwood box.
>rub dia
You rub the uncut diamond and it glows an angry red in response!

But when Mischung rubs the gem:
>rub my dia
You rub the uncut diamond and it suddenly glows a brilliant emerald green!

The image of Japhrimel suddenly forms before you in a pale ghostly green light and whispers, "Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope!" to you.

The image of Japhrimel fades away, and the uncut diamond in your hand crumbles to dust.

does it deliver itself like the dove charms from last years simucon bag? or do you have to track the person down and pass them the gem?

You have to pass them the gem.

You put the gem in the box and create the message via that...

Hand the gem then to the person for them to rub.

The larger issue that I despise about these is that they use MIU.

The smuggling boxes are pretty cool too if you are into these sort of things
