Found this pretty crazy.

You accept Nairdin's offer and are now holding a ruby-pommeled vaalorn longsword.

You assess the longsword for structural weaknesses and strengths.

Careful examination indicates the vaalorn longsword has a base strength of 75 and a base durability of 190. You also determine the current integrity of the vaalorn longsword to be at 100.0%.

You heft the weapon a few times...but note nothing unusual about it.

You hiss.

You exclaim, "This is junk!"

Nairdin grins.

Nairdin asks, "Oh well then you should just keep it, huh?"

Nairdin smirks at you!

You say, "Elven metal? Nah."

Nairdin grunts in agreement.

You say, "If it were a falchion, maybe."

You offer your vaalorn longsword to Nairdin, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Click CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.

Nairdin has accepted your offer and is now holding a ruby-pommeled vaalorn longsword.

Nairdin whispers, "Temp MCW?"

Nairdin chuckles.

You hoot.

You quietly whisper to Nairdin, "Nothin'."

Nairdin peers quizzically at you.

Nairdin says, "Nah."

Nairdin says, "Folksinger's song says it's weighted."

You quietly whisper to Nairdin, "You heft the weapon a few times...but note nothing unusual about it."

You quietly whisper to Nairdin, "Got it twice."

Nairdin laughs!

Nairdin whispers, "Arshwikk: it's totally weighted, tell mogonis he's a fail warrior!"

Nairdin chuckles.

Nairdin whispers, "Wanna try again?"

Nairdin smirks.

You nod.

Nairdin offers you a ruby-pommeled vaalorn longsword. Click ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds.

Checking out the longsword, it looks like it is temporarily masterfully weighted to inflict more critical blows than a normal weapon of its type.

You say, "Oh."

You quietly whisper to Nairdin, "That is weird. two times, nothing. now i see it."

You quietly whisper to Nairdin, "I've never had that happen."

All of them, but no enhancives.

I've never had that many failures in a row, RNGesus was just pissed at you.

Where were you? Could lighting affect the assess? I have encountered this as well, where normally I see any and all weighting on first pass, then sometimes I miss a few times in a row.

temp weighting is more difficult to see, ran a basic script on a temp heavy weighted falchion and a fel hafter, I missed 300% more on the temp over the course of 12 hours continuous, was at a table.

Temporary weighting and padding is far harder to see on first try then permanent, no idea why thats the case, but I regulalrly miss on both armor and weapons with temporary reads, with max in both weapon and armor skills.

It's stupid. People ask us to assess, and we have to do it three or four times on one item. Reduce the roundtime if it's going to be this unnecessarily difficult, especially for capped characters. I've always assessed until I see the same reading twice, but that's useless if the first two times I see nothing when the item has weighting or padding.

You can't see a wrong reading, either you get no info, partial info or the correct info. Once you see it thats the right read.

I DON'T TRUST THE SYSTEM!

I vote we stop the "get no info" option. A capped warrior with max ranks without enhancives should have a 100% success rate.
