Did you read the document or just see the picture? If you read the document it describes how the Kunai is actually similar to a crowbar and was a farming tool fashioned into a weapon. So while the picture is spot on for disproofing the Katar motif...the description and evolution of the Kunai sounds more in line with a Katar then a dagger.
