I'm wanting to upgrade my 128mb video card, to a 256mb. I'm looking at newegg.com, but I'm an idiot, and don't want to buy the wrong thing. Now, I found a 256mb one that was under 100 bucks, and wondering if it's a good buy. Someone consult this idiot please.

NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

FX 5700 chipset is MUCH faster than the FX 5200. The FX 5200 was essentially the slowest card in that generation of cards. You will see a huge difference with pretty much any other card you choose to purchase.

Erm... Why Upgrade simply for the ammount of memory, when selecting a video card, gotta look at all the factors, memory (after it's above 128), has a limited effect on actual graphics quality as it's more in to play as the speed of the graphics clock, and ram speed. you'll always notice higher end cards simply have faster memory/clock access. hope this helps.. try tomshardware.com for a quote on bang-for-your buck video cards.
