View Full Version : Paladins and Spell Training
Hey All-
I'm thinking of making a TWC paladin and as part of my training plan, I can make everything I want work if I go .8 spell train. Is this ok, or if by going less than 1x per level will I be gimping myself. I have experience as a ranger, and my ranger is almost 1.4 spell trained as an open archer, so this will be a big departure for me.

1x vs. .8x isn't make or break, but 1625 as early as possible is really nice.

Would it make sense to 1x to 1625, then tone it down a little to work on other skills?
Are there any other 'must haves' I should consider?

I'd say 1635 is just as nice if not nicer than 1625

Yeah typically you want to get to 1625 as quickly as you can.
TWC is REALLY hard to do unless you're post-cap. Just be warned on that one.

Yeah, if possible. You could shave off some harness power, or bring TWC down to 1.5x for like level opponents, then bring them back up later.
It's subjective, but I think everything past 1625 is in a 'nice to have someday' category rather than a 'must have'.

Have to say, I had no idea how big a deal 1635 was until I got it, it is a pretty OP spell, combined with 1630 and MStrike, an offensive paladin can kill everything in the room while everyone else is still on the ground. Having said that, as time4fun pointed out, points are REALLY tight, when I looked at it for my DE paly I could not make it work to my satisfaction, so went pole instead.
Oh, and I think my paladin at 49 trains is no more than .8, maybe a little less, would have to look to know exactly. From what I have read, most people try to get between .75 and 1 depending on how you want to train yours,
