An elderly barrister studies you carefully, then motions toward a nearby deputy who fiercely proclaims, "Hoodtralfeck stands accused of the following crimes..."

The deputy says, "Hoodtralfeck is charged with 1 count of assault with a deadly weapon. This 1 crime carries a total fine of 7100 silvers."

An elderly barrister studies you carefully and declares, "A city official I hated got killed off today, so lucky for you, I'm in a good mood. But, onto matters of state. As if there was any doubt, you are found guilty. Just need to figure out where I last left off in this book called "Novel Concepts in Cruel and Unusual Punishment" for sentencing."

He continues, "In order to make reparations, you may settle your debt one of three ways. You may either pay the fine of 7100 silvers plus any other outstanding debts you may have, serve a total of 20 minutes of incarceration, or do 20 minutes of community service around town. You may ANSWER me either FINE, INCARCERATION, or SERVICE as your choice. But I digress. Choose quickly, now, lest I hold you in contempt of court for wasting my time."
>answer fine

The elderly barrister nods at you and declares, "You have 20 minutes to pay it off, otherwise your seized property will be sold to raise the funds. You may now leave."

>with 100
The local debt collector suddenly enters and walks towards you purposely.
The debt collector glowers at you and says, "I have a bill of 48203708 silvers that I suggest you pay immediately."
The debt collector turns to the teller and says, "The First Sergeant has authorized me to seize the requisite assets in Hoodtralfeck's accounts."
The teller nods grimly to the debt collector and scribbles something in one of the books before turning to another customer.

The debt collector growls something at you about still owing 47030210 silvers before stomping off to accost other debtors.

Sounds like you had prior fines.

It could be prior fines, but this is the second instance where I've heard of additional fines after being sentenced. There could possibly be a bug here.

It ended up being related to cursed items on Hood causing the additional fine.

I wasn't aware that items were taken out of containers now when they're put in your jailbox... I remember historically, mine were in my container.

Either way, I think it would be nice to get that reviewed so max surcharge = fines, or at least some sort of messaging/implication of the additional fine. I know it happened to Maetriks a few weeks ago.

Did you have to pay the fine Hoodtralfeck or did a GM sort it out for you?
