Any poets?

I know theres one or two out there at least, probably a bard or something. Anyway ive been looking for an artistic way to hide from my own insanity so i decided to try. I have no knowledge of anything like this so if anyone has a website or tips or hints id love em. If there isnt too many taunts ill post the one i wrote in the hospital later. The only part i remember from 1st grade is the last word usually rhymes haha.

Need For Weed

Trapped in reality because they said so
I want to tell them what they can blow

Why are they so eager to take away my happy
"Its a depressent and effects your psych meds" or something equally sappy

Makes me want to enter their world and take away their fun
If they make to many more of these decisions for me i will need a gun

The topic of pot is everywhere all the time
Just one more mountain to climb

I guess they think i need a healthy coping method
I replaced weed with anger, wonder if its healthy to always see red

It doesnt seem to work for the people i live around
But ill be damned if they ever take anything else, how does that sound?

Its hard to have the patience to listen to people i care about
The need for weed is so strong, can i do this is a huge doubt

Cant wait for the random piss tests to end
I hope i have the money for weed when it does, heck i hope i have a lot to spend

I don't understand poetry, unless it's rap, then I kind of like it.

No need for anything to rhyme, that's a type of poetry that they typically teach you in school, but a lot of the deepest stuff has no rhyming at all, just write from your heart, keep it up.

How Do I Say It..

I wish I could tell you how grateful I am
that I can sit here and hold your hand.
Looking into my eyes, I hope you can see
what you being here truelly means to me.
So many times in my messed up life,
the loneliness I felt cut like a knife.
So much rage, down deep in my soul,
it was like lving in a dark hole.
Then you came along like something divine,
the only true ray of sunshine,
that has ever been able to reach me,
that I have even been able to see.
You went through me defensive wall
like it wasn't even there at all.
It seems that I am totally open to you,
I have no facade you can't see through.
You know I trust you with all that I am,
I feel safe with my life in your hand.
I don't think there's anything I wouldn't do
just to give you a smile or two.
How can I tell you when there are no words,
and if I tried, it's like I would sound absurd.
So I'll just sit here and look at you,
and hope my message gets through.

That was pretty funny. Tho i must say im honored you took the 2 minutes out of your life to write that just for me. Im a tad annoyed that its better than mine. One other thing i feel the need to inform. I dont go to any jail if i do any drugs, its the psychiatrists and social workers i have to answer to. Id rather it was jail as they are much scarier than any jail could ever be.

As Alarke pointed out, poetry doesn't have to rhyme anymore. A lot of free verse I've read is as compelling as the old style of poetry, and is a wonderful way to express your feelings. Keep it up, Delerium! :)

I do poetry when I'm in that sort of a mood. Its great for getting things out without freaking people out. :D

I used to write poems alot, lately I have not had the time or inspirations to do so. Which is probably a good thing, they would all probably be gloom and doom love sucks etc. Who wants to read that crap! On a forum I was, searching for a cheat
When I came to a post, it said "Click this it's l33t!"

I clicked on the link and your picture came up
I said "Holy shit I'm gonna throw up!"
