Pretty sure it's just an altered rat. I've got a squirrel. Thought about adding another squirrel and maybe a few other rodents. Rangers are weird.

Which GMs alter them? I wouldn't mind transforming one of my three rats into a chipmunk.

I think they can only be done via Sadie now. And if I'm not mistaken they won't change the noun to anything other than rat any more.

I had a "sewer rat" made into a "deer mouse" via Sadie back in November. If the rules changed, its been since then.

Sadie refused to alter my rat. I sent the request for the alteration through a scroll at the end of December and got a response a few of days ago, probably 1/7/17, stating that the rats can not be modified through alter scrolls. Statement claimed that the rats can not be done through Sadie, but must be be done by a special merchant (non-existent?) since they have to go through QC for each alter.

I don't know if the GM who answered me was not up to date on the policies or if this IS the newest policy on the rats. Just want to toss the warning out here either way.

That's the response I got, the whole thing with needing QC and references to some specialized merchant. What I initially heard about the rats a couple months ago was that they were no longer accepted by regular merchants for alteration since they take too much time to do, but Sadie still did them. I thought it was kinda bogus when Sadie refused my request as well. Don't know if it makes a difference, but I was trying to alter my rat into a squirrel.

yes, that is CHE. Seriously, I had a helm done last week that took longer than both rats put together.

I always found this kind of stuff amusing. I liken the experience to your waiter coming to your table and telling you about the specials at the restaurant across the way.

Hey, I want to update on what I encountered. A GM contacted me and said the rat alter was turned down by Sadie in error, and told me to resubmit the request. As of now the rat has been altered successfully.

I really appreciate their quick help, and it looks like the other guy who wanted a squirrel can still get one altered.
