I love Christmas. It's my favorite holiday. I'm one of the few people at work that decorates their cubicle with a little Xmas tree and lights all around.
The constant carols on the radio, however, will make me go postal. I like to determine when I want to hear them. I don't want to hear "a-doopee do Santa baby" when I get in my car in the morning. Gah!
One radio station here has dedicated themselves to play nothing but Christmas music until the end of the year, 24/7. Ugh.

Heh. I agree, CT. I even like Christmas carols, for the most part. However, a continual diet of almost anything becomes cloying, after awhile. Thank the gods for CDs!

I feel you, CT. Like working retail this time of year isn't tough enough, I get to hear the same Christmas carols repeatedly all day too!

I don't know what it's like in the rest of the USA But having spent A LOT of Xmases in Los Angeles I know they tend to start VERY early with the whole decorations etc etc, gets a little OTT and by the time Christmas actually arrives it really is no fun for me anymore.
Maybe I'm just old and don't appreciate it as much as I did when I was little.
Also, being Armenian we celebrate our Christmas on January 5th and 6th. (Date Christ was Christened or something).
And as for the radio...... Well I don't really listen to one, that's what MP3s are for, that way I can have the Christmas Cheer when I choose.
Bah Humbug I say!
And the constant ringing of bells...

Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the paean of the bells-
Of the bells:
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the throbbing of the bells-
Of the bells, bells, bells-
To the sobbing of the bells;
Keeping time, time, time,
As he knells, knells, knells,
In a happy Runic rhyme,
To the rolling of the bells-
Of the bells, bells, bells:
To the tolling of the bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells, bells-
Bells, bells, bells-
To the moaning and the groaning of the bells.
EAP did some good stuff!

I  Christmas carols. In fact, I start listening to them as soon as they start on the radio - like a few weeks before Thanksgiving.
I even have certain songs by certain artists that I love to hear and never tire of:
Old Lang Syne - Dan Fogelberg
Sleigh Ride - Boston Pops Orchestra
Driving Home for Christmas - Chris Rea
Last Christmas - Wham
Christmas Canon - Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Let There Be Peace on Earth - Vince Gill (Not just for Christmas)
Any version of Silver Bells, any songs from Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The entire CD of The Nutcracker (One song is my ring tone.)

How nice of you to offer to shovel our driveway. The bad news is that we have a service who come when it snows. But I could find something else for you to do...
Perhaps I'll strap you down and force you to listen to Christmas music.
Don't be a hater.

Oddly enough, I like the more religious songs such as O Holy Night and the Hallelujah Chorus. Little Drummer Boy actually makes me cry.
I can't STAND the Elvis x-mas tunes, or any traditional x-mas song performed by a pop band. The whole commercialization of the holiday just totally pisses me off.
And I'm not even Christian!

We have a cd playing in the office. Its supposed to be 'inspirational'. Maybe it is.
I promise to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph if I find out who picked it I will do something scary to them, traumatizing them for life so that everything they listen to FOREVA - EVEN ON XMAS will be cheesy 80's goth while they pray to the devil and Anton LaVey's armpits trying to recover they're GODDAMNED soul.
Harsh? Maybe. It is *broadway show tunes* mixed with people like Ashanti doing Southern Baptist-inspired gospel. I've started to amuse myself by giving them techno beats in my mind. Its not working!!
"Its a Marshmellow world...."

I agree with CT...while Christmas carols are nice, let's stick to playing them all day ON Christmas day...kthx.
The radio station I listen to thought it would be neato to play Christmas songs in OCTOBER. :flamed: I didn't listen to that station for days after that. Fucktards.

My wife listens to the "All Christmas Music" station, I hate it when she's in my car because I can't break her thumbs since she's my wife.
I'm not a big fan of most of Christmas anyway. I like a small, simple religious holiday not this commercialized/bastardized holiday.
I do get my revenge because I sing DING FRIES ARE DONE whenever the carol of the bells comes on and yesterday she was singing ding fries are done. A winner is me!
