Can someone explain this type of armor to me? I can't find anything on the wiki.

it is a script that goes in the script slot -
Fluff verbs - related to chains , can alter the color of energy around the chains
DS Flares - +DS when attacked and armor flares, up to +25 (5 ranks)
padding flares unlock - adds flares that add padding that matches the DS flares

Normally you would have to unlock each rank one by one with ghost bucks from Reim, but Retser is apparently tossing a fully unlocked version into the auction.

I had the tinyheroes thread for ethereal armor saved...but now it can't be found. A few clarifications on Chalion's response,

5 ranks of DS flares for the max of +25 DS, only the first 2 unlocks are found in the reim store. The others you'd have to gamble on the mystery prize. Beldannon in prime won the rank 2-3 from the mystery box.
The padding unlock would give 2 padding per defensive unlock for a maximum of +10 padding (hcp). The padding unlock is in the reim store so without gambling you could at most have +10 DS flares with +4 padding flares.

Is it a standard flare rate? Any examples of them working?

It also seems to be broken at present -- three of us who purchased it have yet to see a flare!
