UAC Flares and casting

Am I correct in assuming UAC items like handwraps do not add flares when used with open hand casting?

not 100% positive but I would lean towards the flares only reacting when using UAC combat only.

Flares come from a runestaff and there is no physical contact...

Runestaffs are specifically designed for casting. Uac gloves are not.

Thanks for the response. As runestaves don't require physical contact I was just curious if that carried over to any UAC stuff.
