The GSWiki page (https://gswiki.play.net/Unarmed_combat_system#Equipment_.28UCS_Gloves_and_ Boots_etc.29) says the following, regarding UAC items and DS:


Enchant bonuses added to UCS hand equipment add parry DS equal to that of one-handed weapons. Enchant bonuses added to UCS foot equipment do not add to DS at all.

Thank you, that's very helpful. So it looks like having a high enchant on handwraps and maybe crit or flares on foot would be ideal, if someone had to pick one or the other.
