Garrote Repair?(cross post from Rogue)

Cross posting here to maybe get a few more knowledgeable eyes on it.

So lately I've been messing around with garrotes because, well they're just really fun. Anyway, while squeezing the life out of a cyclops and doing some testing my garrote broke. Problem is it's the ones that are in the hilt of a stiletto(it's a diamond tipped stiletto or something along those lines) and now I have to get it repaired. I've looked up through the wiki and here but I can't really find anything about garrote repairs. Is this an easy fix like at an NPC or a player can do it like repairing lockpicks? Or is this gonna be something I have to take to a merchant? Any light shed on this would be helpful, thanks!


So far we've found Rogue guild masters can't fix it, npc shops can't fix it, any other options?

According to this, from 2005, the way to repair them is RSN.

Can you repair them with those spools of wire that were sold with them at duskruin?

there are "tools" that you can use to repair them. The spools of wire are for the tools to cut new ones.

this is what mine looks like:

a compact blackened steel tool

> analyze tool

You can SPIN the tool. It looks like the kind of tool that fixes broken garrotes by TURNing it, and it also seems like the kind of item that would be useful for cutting garrote wire... if you had any.


I think there are other descriptions. I got it from Duskruin, but they have also been sold off the shelf in EG at least 5 years ago, but I don't think anyone realized what they were at the time, so not many were bought.
