Curious to see if anyone has insight into the nature of this spell.
I was sneaking around OTF and I got hit by an area web. Not uncommon in itself. What was strange is that the web was nowhere in the room description.
As it happened:
[Old Ta'Faendryl, Glory Gate]
A cracked and weathered pylon marks the entrance into the ancient city. The massive stone lintel is fashioned in the image of an eagle. Though stained and worn by wind and weather, the regal bird still beckons all to pass beneath its outspread wings.
Obvious paths: east, west
H>e
Moving forward, you get too close to the rippling, sticky web!
You come out of hiding.
Dozens of silk threads spin into action, ensnaring your body!
I've highlighted instances of web for just such occasions, so I was reasonably surprised to see this. Can creatures hide their webs somehow? Are there naturally occurring webs that just can't be seen? I'm out of ideas.
