I don't plan on selling this (it's a keeper), and paid close to 2m. I figured it was worth it because I figured the forger had to have forging skills in OHE *and* THW. it's mithril not steel.

Master forger here. I would not make one for less than 3m and even then would not be really thrilled about it as a money maker. 6 forge cycles is rough.

Should I retrain from THW/brawl to THW/OHE?

I've always found it annoying when my grip on a bastard sword automatically switches from 2-handed to 1-handed.

Either that, or is there a way to permanently stick your grip to 2-handed?

Sweet! Still just learning about everything that has changed since I played way back when but the idea of increased damage factors for a bastard sword Is drool worthy! I have my 7x bastard sword still and I love the speed of it as an mstriking two hander buy yeah it'd be nice if the DFs were a little higher. Been contemplating using the few thousand PPs I had saved up unknowingly when I re-upped my acct to premie to weight the sword but also don't want to lose ability to have it blessed. Did you buy it from the person who forged it?

This drives me crazy too. Why does grip have to switch automatically?

I don't know if there is a native way to make your grip say 2-handed, but I would set up a macro, script or alias to just enter the grip command anytime you draw the weapon so at least you don't have to do it manually.

Only problem is: your grip can change while hunting. Very annoying I must say!

GRIP should only change if you try to fight with something in your off-hand. I hunt with a bastard sword all the time and have a GRIP issue about once a year.
