View Full Version : Playstation VR
Ordered from Amazon on Thursday and got it last night. Set up is easy. Up and running in a few minutes. Really nice effort put into it. I've only gone through part of the initial set up but I am amazed at how Sony really put thought into the design. Anyone else have it? Any games to recommend before I waste any money?

I'm curious how the PS VR compares to the VIVE, as I understand it's sort of top of the pack, with Oculus dragging along behind everyone.

I have the Samsung headset that was only about $100. PS4 VR blows it away though. My only criticism between the two is the PS4 VR has cables from the PS4, to a control box, to the headset, and additional earplugs that connect between the control box and the headset plus the accessory wands and camera. Samsung is completely cord free with controls on the actual headset.

That (Samsung headset) isn't the VIVE. VIVE is around $800 and is wired similarly to the PS VR I think.

Once again, back is wrong on these forums.

It looks like all the top VR systems are actually wired. Playstation VR has some pros - some cons. The major pro is that they launched the product with major game studio support already intact, so there are plenty of PS game titles. The major con is that the method of tracking movement through the paddles and the PS camera has spotty moments, and will have lower control and the tracking area is limited to 6x10 vs the competitors having a full 10x10 area and superior movement tracking.

The reason I replied the way I did, which I felt was still on topic regardless, was because the Samsung headset uses Oculus software. Sorry I did not provide a complete explanation of why I replied the way I did. Thank you for your usual worthless off-topic trolling contribution.
