Trying to add +TD to a shield, but apparently this will stop it from being blessed, this true? what about santification? This thing also has the harness script which blocks all flares and additional (useful) scripts like banshee flares, I heard there's a script removal service? expensive or rare for this service?

Yes it is true cannot be blessed when providing TD.
No, the harness script is not blocking flare adding, but the TD is. TD is like flares is like blessing is like permabless is like weighting or padding is like defender. Probably more, I could link the wiki but drunk. Read up on it.
You also won't realistically be adding TD or banshee anytime soon.
Script removal is generally rare. I think you are F2P also which is capped at 5x and probably 5 pt TD. The services are very expensive and not worth it under those limitations. Have two shield or build off a treasure drop. I found 5x +8 perm for example though much is temporary or perm but range a bit. Generally no one wants normal TD finds and they are pawned so you can get something cheap unless you go into high enchants or high perm TD bonuses.

Wow +TD is a real killer then. Can't do much once it's on your shield.

TD service could well be added at the end of year auction, it however tends towards prohibitively expensive and is usually offered on enchant level at a time

It really depends on the TD granted. True you can't add flares, but if the TD bonus is sizeable it makes a great addition on a shield.
+TD is similar to weighting in this way. Nobody wants a razern weapon with 2 points of weighting because it's just enough to get in the way. A weapon with 10 or 12 points or more is a completely different story.

TD is the holy grail for a warrior. All the rest is fluff by comparison. It was not added as a service for the first 15 years I played: 1996-2000. But it was actually kind of a moot point until level compression was introduced in GS4. This is because it is a more direct level vs level attack, so with the broader level spread of GS3, it was a bit much to overcome. I've been collecting the stuff for decades, and when you get over a certain threshold the makes a world of difference. There's a middle ground, but I'd say anything less than 10 is nearly pointless, 10 is eh, but once you hit 20TD it makes a significant difference. Hit 50 and well, it's basically impossible to get warded.
Happy hunting,
Kerl

So by this logic. Halflings = super race?

until you can't pick up the tart you want to eat.

halfling encumbrance doesn't factor into tart picking up

As someone who played a robe wearing monk to cap...I say to you, challenge accepted sir! :D

halflings are considered extremely good by a lot of min/maxers for this very reason, yes. Especially with the advent of ranged combat, strength enhances and to a lesser extent encumbrance reducing items circumventing their inherent weaknesses. If i was going to make a character to completely AFK script that I just never wanted to worry about dying ever, i'd do a halfling ranger using bows, or empath / cleric. Really any spirit-based class because you're generally immune to your own circle's spells, so combine that with halfling ETD and maneuver defense and lulz ensue.

You'll note that I was speaking of warriors, who start with a nice healthy negative CvA in plate. My sympathies to any square wearing robes. Good luck!
It's also worth noting that there are other good shield options that are compelling. You could alternatively go for TD armor. Show them what's behind curtain #2 Vanna!

Can't pad with TD on armor.

What class are you playing and at what level? That should drive your priorities. Roblar's post had some good advice in that regard. With high redux, padding is still nice, but takes a back seat to TD for a square. Probably a different deal for a semi or pure.

also depends great where and what critters you hunt, padding helps on some TD on others.
can always ensorcell the shield, that doesn't interfere with anything else

What he said I've never had padding at all. Even with 100 spell ranks redux will prevent basically all crit death that it is factored in. But that is more for armor choices.
Shield choices are minimal for that slot basically. Flares can be fun but inconsistent, unneeded while the other main choice improves a designed weakness for squares and improves survivability.
TD with various resistances is the best armor slot choice for a warrior whose physical training lessens the need for padding. Resistances, while specific, supplant some of what padding provides (especially for non melee attacks or maneuvers, falls etc.). It is a high bar and not easy or cheap though, just best eventually.

Yes the shield should be ensorcelled as well. Also the shield specialization for more negative CvA.
