The full description was: a banded mithglin parma inset with various rubies
Anyone happen to run across it? I would be happy to pay a finder's fee :)

Never understood how itchy curses could make you "drop" a shield; realize most shields are strapped onto your forearm and not actually held. In fact, people used to hold a dagger or short spear in the shield hand!

sigh.. it's actually true. In DR, you can adjust your shield so you can wear it across your forearm or hold it for better defense; I'm playing for nostalgia value dammit!

This loss was due to death while ghosting -- an Ithzir looted it, I assume. :(

Have you assisted to make sure the janitor didn't get it?

Yeah. As of late last night the janitor had not cleared it out.

They should really just get rid of this archaic mechanic. It's insane to think that a network failure can negatively impact you in such a tedious way in a game you are supposed to be playing for fun.
Almost everyone that's able to instantly just decays to not have to deal with it, so the only people it ends up effecting are the ones in a situation like yours.

Yeah, agreed. It also seems like something could be done to mitigate the whole ghosting issue. For example, reducing the tcp retry limit so that connections timeout more quickly. I think the defaults are often pretty generous in this area, allowing connections to linger for 15 minutes or more.

Nice! Assuming another player had it, kudos for returning it.
