What are your favorite alterations? This is meant to be different from mementos (which IMO have a more role-playing idea to them versus just custom items, but an item can be both of course!)
Mine are:
A flowing snow-white raw silk cloak: Fashioned of the finest raw silk, this flowing cloak is dyed a snowy hue of pure white. Embroidered in delicate silver thread along the hem are the words, "Soon the day dissolves, perplexed by its failing might, into a stillness of the heart, a fable of fallen light." Clasping the cloak in place is a small translucent diamond brooch, its surface etched with the image of stylized flames.
Got this made right after Naessi decided to follow Eorgina. Took the phrase from a book and tweaked it a little.
A flame-trimmed black velvet cloak: The soft black velvet is cut in a fashionably long style, falling to the wearer's ankles. A thin line of embroidered flames stitched in rose and yellow gold thread winds sinuously around the hem of the cloak, delicately sewn onto a lithe strip of sapphire blue silk. The clasp at the neck is a skillfully carved rose-shaped firestone.
This was a gift from Nystiral when he left the lands.
A sleeveless honey-colored silk gown with an amber-beaded empire waist. This is just one of my favorite gowns. That it's 5x doesn't hurt either:)
An obsidian flame-patterned athame: Carved from gold-flecked obsidian into the shape of a slender flamestalk, the athame has been intricately painted with vibrant hues of red, orange and yellow along the shaft, giving it the appearance of a burning flame. This was a gift from Jolivette when she left the Lands.
A delicate gold diadem: This diadem appears to have been painstakingly crafted for both lasting quality and elegant appearance. The front center is set with a small red ruby masterfully etched with the image of a human sorceress surrounded by a circle of fire. With her arms raised in ritual, she is seemingly oblivious to the rising flames that surround her form.
A black sable necessities bag: Cinched with a twisted golden cord, this stylish bag is designed to hold a lady's necessities wherever she may go. Embroidered in soft gold thread are the words, "Personal Belongings of Naessi Wintersun"
That's about it. I'm lucky enough to have a lot of custom items, but these are my absolute favorites.
Show me yours!

In the four years I have played gemstone, I have only been lucky enough to get one alteration. A very sweet and generous person let me have his place in line to alter my flute.
I have sat for hours waiting, but I have NEVER been picked for an alteration myself.
Yes...this is a sore and bitter spot for me.

Two of the alterations you see listed there were from winning premium contests (pays to enter!) Two were gifts from friends who left, so I can't claim those as my luck. One was from a premium year-gift scroll, and one was from the Artisan's Faire 2002.

I own a lot of alterations, 16 of which are directly related to priesthood. The temptation to list them all is great but I will select only a few.
a simple white leather almsbox
Strengthened leather in the shape of a small cubic box hangs from a braided golden cord. Each face, except the top one, adorns a delicately tooled holy sigil. A narrow slit on the top face, the word "Charity" painted in gold above it, invites followers to show just how far their devotion goes. The subtle gold-threaded seams and the fine detail of the embossing indicate no lack of wealth but rather a deliberate simplicity, as to not arise the donator's suspicion.
an eonake eahnor-hafted waraxe
Masterfully crafted of gleaming eonake, the pristine condition and recently sharpened edge of this formidable weapon mark it as someone's prized possession. Three soft white feathers, secured at the base by a luminous opalescent thunderstone, suspend from a delicate chain affixed to the bottom of the brilliant eahnor haft. Engraved on the head of the waraxe in flowing script is the word "Justice." (has double fire flares)
These are two of a 7 piece set which I call the 7 holy virtues. The 5 other pieces are: Temperance (robe), Prudence (shield), Fortitude (armor), Faith (prayerbeads), and Hope (prayerbook).
These are two of my recently acquired possessions:
a ceremonial polished eonake crosier
The elegant, lustrous staff of pure eonake appears unadorned at first glance. Closer inspection reveals a string of tiny etched holy sigils tightly coiled around the base, the spiral dissipating gradually as it curls its way up to the top of the crosier. The elaborate volute ends in a glowing opalescent thunderstone gripped by five perfect ivory prongs.
a delicate ferroniere of braided eonake center-set with a teardrop aster opal cabochon (amulet holder)
I don't get to show my alters often. I'm not the kind to go around and show everyone unless they ask to see it and sadly, in game no one ever asks to have a closer look.

I like the ferroniere, Adhara. I wanted to make one but was afraid no one would know what it was, so I just stick to diadems and circlets instead. It's pretty!

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for you. Getting an alter is incredibly easy. You don't even have to be Premium anymore. You can buy them off the black net (blank alter scrolls), or go to one of the various merchant events that are becoming incredibly common these days (Anfelt, Artisan's Faire gone already, Spitfire and Ebons Gate to come). Its all about being smart, and being in Asmodea's chat room ;)

Here's my 4 favorites:
an antique silver eahnor locket
Show: The oval locket of silver eahnor hangs from a slender tarnished chain. The scratched filigreed detailing on the front and back shows signs of an unforgiving past. The slighly warped frame prevents the locket from closing normally, allowing a glimpse of the time-faded picture of a young Ashrim couple within. A darkened tiny blood stain mars the delicate features of the woman.
Jewelry
a dark runic Ardenai warblade
Show: Finely crafted long ago, this aged but mighty blade is a masterpiece among weapons. The blade is etched with flowing Ardenai runes and the metal gleams in hues of forest green and gold. Inset into the pommel of the blade is a green dreamstone marked with the royal crest of House Ardenai crossed by a silver-edged black longsword. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
6x longsword with 10 scripts and lightning flares.
a leaf-shaped aetherstone pendant
Show: Suspended from a thin veil iron chain, the finely crafted pendant mainly consists of a wondrous swirling aetherstone in a deep green faenor bezel setting. The gleaming jewel, masterfully faceted in the shape of a gently curving, oblong leaf, is further embellished by subtly etched translucent, interlacing veins.
Jewelry
a hunter green Ardenai tabard
Show: Crafted of exquisite hunter green suede, this tabard features a magnificent gold-threaded trim, that is actually an intricate laurel leaf frieze. Embroidered on the chest in lustrous black and gleaming gold is a crest of Ta'Ardenai. A miniature, ancient moss-covered tree carved from a luminous Eye-of-Koar emerald and elegantly set in gold clasps the collar of the tabard, the words "Valia Rashae" expertly etched upon it.

Mine are...
A suit of dusky Palestra armor:
A dusky body-suit comprised primarily of stiff black leather plates, each firmly secured over a soft dark green velvet underlay, coupled with thick bronze breast and shoulder-plates, provides ample protection from any incoming blows. Each leather plate is decorated with very fine, silvery flourishes and designs carefully detailed using magically ensorcelled krodera. The metal is used again on the breastplate encircling the crest of the Royal Palestra Guard of the Faendryl Basilica with a faint chain-link.
Altered and lightend FGB.
A fang-pommeled dark elven longsword:
Upon first glance the longsword appears dark and nondescript, then the black diamond eyes of the dragon-shaped hilt catch your eye. The pommel is carved into a sneering maw filled with shards of sharp dragon's-fang quartz. The grip is bound in dark leather and intricately tooled to appear scaled. The long blade of the sword is edged in urglaes and engraved with a single pentagram.
4x, falchion based blessable
A tiny black tear-drop tattooed under his right eye
Altered tattoo.
And of course...
A mighty cookie knife:
Forged from the strongest steel by the most skilled craftsmen, under the most stringent of conditions, this blade is sharp and deadly enough to cut even the toughest of biscuit. Glancing closer to the metal you can see haunting images of former cookies once pierced or chopped by this heinous blade, engraved in light iron patterns.

You tap some stained celestial blue leathers.
>l leath
The supple leather of this armor seems to encase the wearer's form with deceptively soft folds, masking its strength and durability. Tooled into the chest, you see an image of a young Sylvan empath with his tongue stuck to a towering ice mule statue, holding what appears to be a mug of rum. Upon closer look, you notice faint rum stains that appear to be marring the design, as if the wearer had one too many drinks while hunting. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
That's right.. be jealous.
Edit to add:
>tap cloak
You tap a star-patterned vivid celestial blue cloak secured at the shoulder by a sapphire-inlaid platinum clasp.
>tap shoe
You tap some dark blue leather shoes with tiny brass bells on the toes.
(Best shoes ever, in the lands, period.)

I only have one alteration:
a heavy green imperial-styled greatcloak
This greatcloak is designed to be both functional and stylish. Cut from a heavy section of wool that has been dyed a dull green and lined with spidersilk, the elements will have a difficult time penetrating the sturdy garment. A matte iron chain at the collar sports a clasp bearing the crest of the Turamzzyrian Empire.

That's hysterical... that had me rolling when I read it. :)
Anyway, my favorite alters:
A silver-dotted midnight black crystal: Black as a midnight sky, the crystal's surface is dotted with tiny pinpoints of silver light -- each glimmering briefly as reflected light plays off their lustrous surfaces. Set against the central face of the crystal's dark surface is a star -- its eight bright points setting it apart from its surrounding cousins. A thin silver chain wraps around the topmost portions of the crystals, their links formed into the shape of scythe-blades.
(One of the attuned fortune telling crystals from the Artisan Faire, gotten for me by a friend)
A vaalorn and veniom wedding ring: One strand of vaalorn and one strand of veniom intertwine to form this elegant wedding ring. The strands, crafted so closely together, would be impossible to separate from each other without breaking them both. Etched along the outer edges of the ring are miniature oak leaves, a tiny arcane rune engraved upon each individual leaf. Set between the leaves are flawless moonstones, shimmering faintly as the light plays across their surface.
(It probably could have been nicer, but it represents Whirlin and Michiko really well)
A slender satin garter: Fashioned from luxurious dark green satin, this slim garter has been designed to accentuate the wearer's shapely thigh. Tiny oak leaves have been embroidered in a twining pattern across the green satin in reflective silver thread, which sparkles as it catches the light. Centered on the front of the satin band is an eight-pointed star, crafted from solid silver and designed to securely fasten the garter.
(This one could be nicer too, but I was kinda rushed when I designed it. All in all, I don't think it turned out that badly. The same friend who got the crystal for me got me this)
And...
A wickedly sharp bodice dagger: Though only a few scant inches long, the first thing that draws the eye to the silver dagger is how unbelievably sharp it is. Tiny scintillating amethysts and emeralds are inlaid along the hilt in a spiraling pattern, and the slender blade glistens with a well-polished sheen. Carefully etched along the blade are the words "I said NO!" in a delicate, flowing script. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
(Yeah okay... so it's gaudy... but it was my first alter and I love it no matter what)
Edited to add: Tayre's shoes own you.

Most of my alterations come from pay events like the anfelt and the faire. Some come from premium contests and 3 alterer scrolls (they still owe me one, which I will never get). I have only had 1 or 2 alterations from regular prime merchants over all the years I've been playing.
There are several alterations that I made that I really liked but are now owned by others. Two were sold when I dropped the character all together (and her stuff didn't fit anyone else) and one was just when I needed silver badly for a certain weapon.
a flame-red silk bodice (Now owned by Nenime, but I don't mind, she likes it.)
The bodice is cut of flame-red silk, laced up the front in an ornate pattern with several smoke-grey cords. Bordering the low, square cut of the collar is a line of tiny, stylized flying ravens. The hem is fire-scorched, turning the edges a darker burgundy.
a pair of singed raven wings (Also in Nenime's possession.)
Painstakingly assembled of genuine raven feathers, the wings have an amazingly realistic look and feel. The longer feathers are singed at the tips, as if they had come too near the fire on some past occasion.
a pair of low-waisted pants adorned with small glittering emerald scales (Yukito had 'em, last I heard.)
And for the stuff my characters still own, I really loved these:
a high-collared elven tunic crafted of overlapping blued steel scales
a glowing soulstone ferroniere
This delicate platinum chain ferroniere fastens around the wearer's head, partially hidden in the hair. Suspended from the chain is a single brightly glowing soulstone, positioned over the middle of the forehead.
an amused elven lady doll (Not clothing, but it IS an altered toy and I just love it to pieces.)
The first thing noticable about the doll is its impeccable dress, the height of fashion. Long strands of silk have been dyed a red so dark it is nearly black and used as the doll's hair, falling to the knees. The inscrutably amused look on her porcelain face matches the mocking shine to her mismatched grey and black eyes, and the slight tilt of one corner of her generous mouth. It might or might not have something to do with the open and empty poison ring on one of the doll's fingers.
Aaaaaaand.... I'll stop now.

Zir, as I posted above, with a bit of work, alterations are easy to get. I re-dressed Stay from scratch in a few short months just by going to Anfelt and the Artisan's Faire.
Who me

a thick silver thumb ring
Etched into the surface of the ring is a tiny, but elaborate rendering of a battlefield. The image circles the band, the scene one of carnage, death and despair. Most of the faces of the slain are far too small to reveal detail, but the few that do are twisted and tormented.
a platinum spider web armband
Forged of gleaming platinum, this armband has been painstakingly worked into the design of an intricate spider's web that wraps itself around the arm to form a complete circle. Dangling from the central platinum strand is a flawless emerald, skillfully etched with the word, "Mistress".
Neither can I take credit for.. the first was done by Krash after giving him an idea of what I'd like.... the second was done by good ole Klaive. :)

I have many favorite items, but I love these the most.
a halfling feasting doublet
Two sets of buttons run down one side of this garment, with one set of holes down the other, for quick adjustments in girth.
a very small knife
Designed for an exceedingly small hand, this knife has a tiny hilt carved from a single piece of ivory. Thin ink-black strips of softened leather spiral around the hilt and ensure that the wielder has little chance of losing their grip. The pommel has a smooth multi-colored wyrdshard imbeded in it, striated with bands of vivid color. Stylized silvery runes are engraved down the length of the blade.
a miniature lunchbox
Despite its outward appearance, this lunchbox appears to hold quite a bit. The seams and handle have been reinforced so that none of the valuable contents fall out. A small note has been pinned to the top of the box that reads in small childlike lettering, "Donchew touch! Mine!" The script then goes on in graphic detail depicting all manner of destruction and pain most excruciating to any that would touch this lunchbox, save the owner.
A wide ceinture
You glance at your ceinture. Plain and unadorned, this ceinture has been woven of soft cotton. A small leather strap is stitched securely to the cotton, a simple platinum snap at its tip.
a simple shortcloak
Fitted for a halfling, the shortcloak is fashioned of soft velvette. A simple platinum clasp secures it loosely about the shoulders.
a tiny treasure case
Fire hardened leather has been meticulously fashioned to form this waterproof case. The mithril hinges and clasp gleam brilliantly, the leather is smooth and well-oiled, all a testament to the meticulous care that has been given to this case. Inside the case, small padded velvet pockets are designed to shelter the precious cargo.

I finished up outfits on my characters a while ago and found that getting some really odd items done for props for RP to be fairly amusing...
a big fuzzy heart-shaped sign
This oversized sign is cut in the gigantic heart shape and stylized with pink fuzz. The words "LOVE & PEACE" are engraved in elegant script.
a torn white flag
This makeshift flag is suspended from a very long bent metal fork. The ravaged and time-worn flag is hastily scribbled with the words, "PEACE! TRUCE! PARLEY!" in big red common script.
a tattered wanted poster
You see a tattered parchment poster with the official seal of the Constabulary. Hastily sketched is the image of a seedy looking individual in a dark halfmask. In plain common reads, "WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE!"
a constabulary recruitment poster.
Drawn on this poster is the detailed image of a proud, tall constable and his posse in front of a constabulary. In the background you see a band of wreched hoodlums behind shining steel bars. Far off in a corner sits a judge holding a long rope and noose. In bold common is written, "MORE HANGINGS, MORE PAY!"
I also got some that say, "Yes", "No", "Boo" that I try to work into RP on occasion but it's tough to actually remember to bring them out when a situation presents itself.

My spell kit, greatkilt, and greatcloak are the only alters I've had done:
You tap an onyx-studded black spell kit.
Elegant black silk covers this hard-sided case designed to hold spell components and implements. A large onyx-inset lock that has been etched with complex runes tightly secures the lid. Interior pockets have been well padded to protect ingredient vials and potions, with a cylinder case for scrolls on one side. A faceted onyx plate on the lid has been etched with the monogram, "A.R."
You tap an onyx-trimmed black silk greatcloak.
Based on the size of this cloak, it was fitted for a giantman, and a large one at that. The rich black spidersilk has been lined with a myriad of pockets that contain mysterious ingredients suitable for potions and spells that a wizard may find useful. Polished onyx gemstones edging the cloak have been etched with complex runes. The cloak closes at the throat with a large veil iron-edged onyx clasp.
You tap a ceremonial onyx and crimson Ishan greatkilt.
No show but plenty of good actions that I use quite frequently.
I'd like to get my armor done and that would be about all I'd need. While everyone is in the alter mood, tell me what you think about this:
Some ceremonial Ishan battle-skins.
Heavy leather has been crafted into a suit of armor large enough for a giantman. Black studs rivet the seams, while small onyx-hued rolaren discs have been stitched on for additional protection. The back of the leathers is covered with a large bearskin, the hollowed head forming a fierce-looking head covering. The bearskin is bound to the pauldrons with rolaren hammer clasps, each etched with Saramar runes surrounding the symbol of the Ishan from the Grot-karesh Hammer Clan.
I really like your idea for the armor, except for one part:

Many of my alters are bought but these are my favorites. My armor I designed myself and is a second year one that took forever to get. These are my faves
some gold etched minstrel armor
This snug fitting blue-green body armor is formed of iridescent scales. Each scale is tightly fitted together with small golden links, which allow the armor to conform to the wearer's every movement. Each scale is carefully etched with the image of a tiny writhing golden gryphon. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
a ravishing black satin gown
The black satin gown is cunningly crafted to cover, yet pleasingly accentuate, the wearer's physique. Sleeved to the hands by tiny silver rings, their full lengths are threaded with silver veniom. The low-cut fitted bodice and full-length skirt are adorned with veniom-studded rubies in precarious patterns of chaos, lending a hint into the nature of a woman.
my design;
a sensuous seafoam gown of gossamer panels overlaid with diamond dusted ocean blue wisps of sheer silk
This is a god auction shield
an opal-dusted star-shaped shield
You softly tap your star-shaped shield, and the tiny motion causes the light to dance off the gem-encrusted surface in mesmerizing fashion. The stones refract even the faintest illumination in a glittering array of colors, the prismatic effect creating a dazzling show of varied hues. With even the smallest shift, the shield radiates a new display of dazzling color.
This is an old alter, not my design but I've always loved it
> some tight red leathers with a short skirt of soft red doeskin
a cloak of shadowy insubstantial material
You tap a cloak of shadowy insubstantial material that shifts with every movement.

My two favorites..that were in most part designed by a good friend..the player behind Talantris, just tweaked a bit by the gm's who altered them...I love em..corny or not..
You tap a willow hafted alloy axe.
>look axe
Thin strips of doeskin have been tightly stretched over the last bit of the haft to provide a firm grip. Delicate faenor leaves and vines have been inset into the haft from the handle to the blade. The alloy blade has been sharpened to an almost razors edge. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
There appears to be something written on it.
It reads:
Looking closer at the faenor adornment, you notice the word "Rangerpuff" inscribed throughout it.
You tap a woven-willow herb basket.
>look basket
Iridescent ribbons of amber and green are carefully intertwined throughout the thin willow limbs. Deep brown muslin lines the inside of the basket, obviously to keep its contents fresh by keeping out the air. A deep green-veined faenor leaf serves as a clasp to secure the lid when closed. Engraved in a flowing, delicate hand, a small inscription upon the clasp reads, "Merjinia Dyshun - Rangerpuff".

I never got alters til I went high-taxpayer route. I bought mine at much inflated prices. The ones I have now for Stunssed are nice.
a finely knit midnight blue kilt embroidered with thousands of tiny mithril constellations -- original kilt from the 4 Winds auction, I've had it deepened as well.
a midnight blue ranger's cloak--Strands of pale silver silk have been stitched over the cloak in an organized pattern of stars. Plaited lengths of spidersilk link each star to its neighbor, bringing the constellation into clear focus. A puma crouches low, prepared to leap upon the prey it stalks, although whether its intentions are playful or deadly is not evident. Additional stitching of cloudy grey gives the puma a hint of fur, melding the celestial beast with its mortal counterpart.
Working on some ideas for alters at Ebon's, too.
I like the mithril constellation thing... that's pretty. That's a nice way of making things shiny and glittery without the dusting of precious gems.
As for the Premium thing... I started out Premium so, I dunno. See, I played when I was fourteen or so, on AOL. Then I had to stop playing when it went pay to the internet, 'cause my mother wouldn't pay for it for me. Then when I turned eighteen, I paid for it myself and immediately went Premium, heh. Glad I did. It's worth it, to me.

I have alters, but the majority of them are shows so people dont see them much.
Some fitted crimson leather pants :
The pants are expertly tailored of fine elven leather, and made to fit the wearer like a second skin. Thin black cording loosely laces the pants from hip to ankle, open just enough to allow a flash of skin beneath. A fine vaalorn clasp in the shape of a fox fastens the pants at the low slung waist.
a tailored black leather coat with antique carved silver buttons
(I think the only one I have without a show)
And then all the Shepherdess things I was lucky enough to get with Valiria, I'll have to post those some other time...
These are just a couple of the ones I like

I got my first alter just a little while ago when Sukara was here. I had fun designing it too...
You smooch a jade-clasped tapestry satchel.
>l satchel
Drawn closed with braided leather cording, this satchel is secured with an intricate carved jade toggle clasp of a pegasus in flight. Although a bit worn in spots, this bag is obviously well cared for. Woven in brilliant hues, this intricate tapestry depicts a cream-white pegasus walking through the gentle deep blue surf of a distant shore. Gossamer clouds float in an amber-hued sky above him. Wading slowly with a lowered head, lustrous wings folded, his black nose skims the lapping waves.

Fashioned from dark crimson steel, the surface of the collar holds a faint ripple, imparting the impression of a hazy wave. A stylized onyx cat head is inlaid onto the front of the collar, its mouth open in a feral snarl. Silver-chased fangs can be seen from the jaws of the feline.
Ok, I lied, I have one. I was new, hanging around in River's Rest when this guy Hakkon showed up. I thought he was a player and had forgotten or didn't know at the time that the bar there sold Hakkon's brew or something.
Anyway he says he can change the looks of things. I watched as he made this great armor for one girl. Being so new I just asked for a constellation on my purple iron shield that I had found somewhere, possibly a bench.
a purple iron shield emblazoned with gold stars
It was pretty cool. I was so happy I gave him a few hundred silver as a tip. ::laugh:: Ahh, the newbie days. I figured out why someone had dropped it. That sucker is heavy! I still have it though and had it enchanted up to 4x.

This is one of my favorites and the only one I feel like digging out to look at right now. Heh. I didn't get chosen for it, so it holds just that more special meaning to me. One of my girls entered in last years Solhaven's Snowflake Ball and designed her ideal gown through ACTing. I was suprised when the top three winners had their idea turned into an alteration and this is what I got from my idea.
a high-waisted spidersilk gown. Show:Several layers of thin, nearly translucent spidersilk comprise the bodice of this gown, though linen has been used to line it in strategic places. A slim underskirt of the same fine linen, dyed in subtle shades of iridescent blue and green, shows through the almost transparent overskirt. The tight sleeves end at the elbows, though an overlay of delicate Elven lace falls past them in a graceful swirl of fabric. Tiny crystal daisies dot the lace and reflect light in a constantly moving display.
Needless to say, I love it.

I have my fair share of alters as well, but my most favorites are the following three..
a silver-chased vaalin wedding band set with a flawless glowing soulstone.
a vaalin belly-ring adorned with a dangling heart-shaped ice blue soulstone
some form-fitting moonlit silver leathers studded with heart-shaped ice blue soulstones.

I've only ever gotten one alter by myself. All the rest were either given to me as gifts or someone gave me their spot in line. This alter i got in the landing on the alterer's first day. It's not exactly what I would consider Eorginian but i still like it....plus i got it on my own! Woot!
A pair of flame-embossed gloves
Serpentine tendrils of flame have been embroidered in deep crimson silk around the cuffs of both gloves, and small scarlet-dyed bone buttons clasp each glove at the wrist. A matching pattern of flames has been embossed to varying depths across the supple black leather on the back of each glove, and short scarlet-dyed bone talons project from the back of each knuckle.

I was able to get 3 alters at Ebons and wanted to share them and see what people thought. The drawing is for RP.
You tap an embossed soft leather journal.
>l journ
The journal closes by pulling the flap over the side and wrapping the wide flat leather cording around the journal a few times. The cover is embossed with the image of a horse standing in a small clearing. Colored a dark umber with a white blaze down his face and a white sock on his left rear leg, the horse stands with his head raised and ears forward as though listening for something, or someone. Written in black ink across the bottom of the cover in scrawling script is the name, "Caiylania E'Leanu."
>l in journ
In the soft leather journal you see a white-spotted falcon feather quill and an unfinished drawing.
>get draw
You remove an unfinished drawing from in your soft leather journal.
>l draw
The drawing depicts a scene of journeying travelers. Trees are barely visible in the distance and long grass seems to be waving in the wind for as far as you can see. A line of weary people head towards the horizon, warriors and rangers striding along the outskirts of the group. Many walk closely together, comradery evident in their postures and expressions. Sketched lightly in but not yet finished is the addition of dogs and familiars. The initials "c.e." are blended in with the grass.
>tap shirt
You tap a comfortable looking natural linen shirt with a loosely laced neckline.

Hope you don't fall on hard times. Those first two would be a bitch to sell. (Especially the first one)

I know, but I don't design to sell. I wanted roleplay items for Caiy and I also figured, if I was ever dumb enough to put something in someone elses container, I would be able to get it back :)

You tap an ora-threaded azure gossamer gown.
Thin threads of silvery ora are interwoven with azure to create a lush metallic patina that subtly glistens and shimmers. The sheer garment is designed to skim along the voluptuous contours of the body without obscuring their curvaceousness. Dark blue silk ribbons gently gather the gown loosely at the neck and wrists, and band the hem of the swirling full-skirt.

I got my Waraxe done at Ebon's. People that see Stun in game know he calls her Betsy.
a masterfully crafted massive waraxe
This masterpiece among weapons features two sharp rolaren crescent blades linked in the middle by a splendid carving of a rearing puma viewed from the side. Elaborately embossed patterns along the sides of the head create sinister shadows regardless of the angle the light strikes them. The smooth bloodwood handle is wrapped in heavy, double-wound leather lanyards studded to the haft to ensure a perfect fit in her master's hand. Deeply engraved into the highly polished endpiece is the name, "Betsy." You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
This has to be my favorite alter. I got a couple others I might share later.
Love you Jolena!
From this year's Ebon's Gate... I have to say...
My gently curving silvery haon fife whose subtly serpentine surface is overlaid with grey pearl scales.
I think I prefer longer item names than shows.

My armor has got to be my favorite
some sturdy sylvan-forged brigandine
Built by sure-handed Fresiawn craftsmen to withstand the rigors of travel outside the tree-cities, this simple but elegant suit of form-fitting brigandine remains in excellent condition. Some adornment has been incorporated into the natural synthesis of ebon leather and fine vultite; tiny silvered mithril crescent moons encircle the high neckguard, and a small stylized image of a wyvern, claws extended, is inlaid in silver on the left side of the chest plating.
At the festival I got a jeddart-axe done, I wish I had more time to work on it but I think the minimalist approach works well sometimes
a massive crescent-bladed voulge
The long blackened haft of the voulge supports a massive vultite axe blade, which has been polished to a high silvery sheen. The distinctive crescent-shaped blade retains a deadly edge, and the points of the crescent glimmer faintly in the light. A decorative red tassle hangs from the haft just below the blade.

Very nice armor. Any advice on how to come up with other ideas for altering brig?

This was some armor I used to have on my v'tullian empath...
some krodera spiked brigandine - Small krodera spikes have been attached to the plates throughout the leather armor, intended to do harm to anything that comes in contact with it. Bits of cloth, leather and less identifiable remnants hang from the various spikes. Several of the spikes have been bent or broken from some tremendous impact.
I rather liked it, gives me a 'battlerager' image, like Pwent from the Dark Elf books (highly recommend reading em if you haven'! - RA Salvatore rules)
an enormous mesh war pack................weighs 3 pounds and holds 120 pounds.
This sturdy pack has been made from an extremely strong fine linen mesh. It has withstood the harshness of time and heavy use which is shown by a myriad of tiny holes throughout the pack. The pack has leather and mesh straps buckled with dull faenor clasps, allowing even the largest giantkin to adjust for comfort. Along the backflap you notice the words "If found dead, open with caution" written in fine veniom thread.
an enormous black longcoat loosely secured with a miniature veil iron anchor. <pin-worn, holds 80 pounds>
an enormous mesh treasure satchel loosely secured with strands of dried seaweed. <holds 80, shoulder worn>
this was my first alter ever, an enormous ancient greatcloak ..... holds 150 pounds......The cloak has been woven to fit the largest of giantmen comfortably. This ancient greatcloak has been passed down through many a generation. Stitched into the back in a fine veniom thread is the symbol of a guildmaster. A pair of large veniom lockpicks, have been cleverly crafted into an interlocking clasp..........id like to change the show.

I just got these and their my favorite alter as I waited a few years for them. The story behind them is Ardwen is always kissing Myshels ears and it tickles. So He promised me ear shields but of course never got them for me. Sergery has given ear muffs and different protections but Myshel was afraid she would lose the tips off her ears. Finally I got the ear shields this fest. Silly little rp thing but its cute (probably annoying for some of our friends. grin). Now Ardwen only gets to nibble Myshel's ears on special occasions.

LoL Daina! I can't wait to see you in your winter stuff. From what I saw altered its stunning!
I love my altered RP items, I mean in real life people have personal items with names and stuff so things like Falgrin't deed, her ear 'protectors' , my sketch, and other assorted personal RP items I think make Elanthia more real.
Plus, one alterer told me she loved it knowing there is no way I was just doing it for resale. She hates seeing stuff she altered up for sale a week later.

My favorite alter overall is Czeska's pan flute and its case. I had them done at 2 different times. They're my prized GS possession, and hers as well:
~A polished witchwood pan flute case carved with the image of an ancient knotted tree.
~An embossed witchwood pan flute:
Carved from rare witchwood of a subtle silvery hue, this graceful set of pipes forms an arc like a crecent moon. Across the centaur hide strap that binds the pipes together is embossed a rustic woodland scene: In a grove of ancient, knotted trees, horned satyrs chase golden-tressed maidens, whose gauzy tunics flutter revealingly. All wear broad smiles, as though they anticipate the outcome of the merry chase.
Trylia (my rogue) has some lovely things from her wedding, too:
~A diaphanous Sylvan wedding veil.
The sheerest of fabrics imparts an illusion of morning mist in front of the wearer's face. Hanging to just beneath the chin, the bottom edge of the veil is trimmed with hand-stitched lace.
~An exquisite ivory linen gown.
The simple lines of this floor-length gown fall gracefully over the curves of the wearer's body. Long, flowing sleeves extend from the fitted bodice and taper to delicate points edged in tiny round moonstones. Just skimming the shoulders, the low neckline is also adorned with bright, flawless moonstones that catch the light with each movement.
~A forest green velvet cape clasped by a silver leaf embedded with glittering chips of emeralds
~A spiraling mithril bracelet with two crescent moons on either side of a round moonstone
~A pair of sheer silken stockings embroidered around the ankles with tiny silver vines,
~Some ivory kidskin ankle boots laced up the back by braided cords through silver eyelets

These are 2 of the ones that Ryaun wore (Trylia's husband) that I wrote for him:
Ryaun shows you a polished vaalorn headband.
This headband of fine vaalorn encircles the wearer's head and draws to a downward point resting in the center of the forehead. Embedded into the center of the point is a faceted black diamond. Elven runes engraved into the metal are enhanced as light reflects off the vaalorn's beautiful sheen.
Ryaun shows you a deeply hooded raven black cloak.
The exquisitely soft leather of this long cloak reaches the ground in draping folds. At the neck is an antiqued vaalorn clasp in the shape of two infinity knots. Small chips of black diamonds sparkle in the twists of the knots as they join together.

A hollowed-out blighted newt corpse.
Hanging from a noose tied with its own rot-blackened tongue, this wretched creature stares blankly from a single dead eye. Symptoms of more diseases than could have occurred accidentally indicate that some cruel being has been inflicting them. In many places, the newt's flesh is rotted to the bone, and the shadowed forms of spell components lodged in its stomach are visible through its empty eye socket. A small metal plate around its neck reads, "EXPERIMENT 52: PLAGUE, THE ROT, UNDEATH."
It's a beltworn sack.

A mithglin orchid-incised longsword
Made from many layers of folded mithglin, this longsword is a masterpiece. Incised along the long, slightly curving blade is a single orchid in mid-bloom. Crushed amethysts are inlaid into the incising, contrasting with gleaming razor sharp edge of the mithglin's bluish-black color. The hilt and quillions are are made of pure silver, and the grip is wrapped tightly with cured leather. The rounded pommel is also crafted of polished silver and is embossed with a stylized image of an onyx scarab.
This is one of my favourites, likely because someone made it for me. That makes things extra special when its a gift.
