Tonight marks the first night of this eight-day festival.

I'm not Jewish, but to all you jews out there HAPPY HANUKAH!

PS I'm sorry you don't get off of school to celebrate it.

Mazel Tov, Mazel Tov!!!!111111111111

Mazel tov.

As for not getting school off, it's probably not a big deal as I'm not that religious but I do know that holidays like Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah are more important than Hanukah, and I think we get school off for those.

Well in Isreal is Chanukah , I think the rest of Judaism adds an extra K for Chanukkah. Either way I know there's a C in the front

Yeah we had kids in Sunday School spelling it every which way. Hannukah, Channuka, Chanukah, etc. etc. and the Rabbi just kinda laughed when we asked which was correct. Then he wrote the word in Hebrew on the blackboard and said "This is the correct way." We just stared at him like he was from some other planet, because we were too young to have started learning Hebrew yet. Then he eased our troubled consciences by telling us that any spelling using the English alphabet was fine and not to worry.
