ANNNND I forgot the poll button, and I can't edit it in, and I can't delete the post. Wonderful.

I guess i'll just ask the question again: Does anyone here subscribe to a digital or print newspaper, be it local or national?

I'll take that as a "I want to beat the poll setup" response.

I waited a few minutes for the poll and you went and fucked it up! :D

Washington Post digital subscription. I originally had it through a Sunday paper delivery, but moved it to bill through Amazon after Bezos bought the Post.

Nope. My local bigger-city-paper tries it's damnedest every month to make me subscribe by only offering 15 free stories per month and then throwing up a pay wall. Sucks for them that I access the paper from 5 different devices, and all are equipped with copious amounts of VPN services as well. Not gonna pay them.

Edit: Oh, I thought we were only talking about digital subscriptions. I subscribe to my actual small town newspaper (in physical paper), but it's only a once per week paper.

Yes, local.

No- which makes me a bad person. A LOT of national news is actually broken by local journalists. I don't think most folks realize how much we still rely on those local publications.

No. Newspapers are 75% ads now anyways.

Back in college, I bought a WSJ student edition and got 1 year of service for like $20. That was 6 years ago. Since then, I continue to get the WSJ everday and have changed my address 4 times. Dunno.

I had WSJ in college because one of my classes required it on my Freshmen year. I cancelled it shortly after.

Buy subscribe do you mean pay?

Stealing your neighbor's newspaper doesn't count, no.

Hey pal, the local newspaper is free.

How about this then, would you pay for it?

No, probably not. I read it every week but I mainly use it for the crossword and sudoku puzzle.

No, but that doesn't mean newspapers don't still have their uses...

And also because I don't want to have to deal with this shit:

I might subscribe to one after some slight renovations are done to my neighborhood though.

Because it is cheaper to clean up? You jsut trash it. Dude, a crawfish boil, you'll have dozens and dozens of pounds. On average at my boils people are eating about 6-7 pounds per person. A plate isn't sufficient.

Read news from multiple sources but no physical subscription. I sometimes pick up a paper from one of those vending boxes though.
