Shields and TD

I'm not talking about pure krodera shields or anything like that, but was there ever a time when carrying a shield gave you extra TD?

Ok, I must be. Does anyone remember if shields worked into your RRmod? That might be what I'm thinking of. I'm 99% sure armour did but the way my memory is I could be wrong about that too.

Sorry to jump on your thread, but does anyone know how shield training affects bolt DS? I'm looking to go from 1x shield/2x dodge training to 0x shield/3x dodge training, and my main concern is the bolt DS I'd have.
