View Full Version : 3D Content, yours for the asking

Been thinking about this recently. I have HUGE amount of 3D content from various sources and I know there are a few people here who are interested or are currently using 3D software. The problem for a lot of you, and something that I believe has deterred some from even trying, is that much of the content is out of reach due to cost constraints. I'm offering my library for free to anyone that is into this shit. You'll just need a dropbox account where I can send files (once I figure out how dropbox works that is).

Content includes mass amounts of lighting and shaders as well as props, etc.
Oh and it's free.
Going to work but let me know if your interested.

1. Post the file into your own Dropbox.
2. Copy the link to the Dropbox folder that contains the files,
3. Send this link to people.
4. Bukkake.

In case any lawyers, or graphic artists that make their living selling shit like this that you're now pirating? This isn't EA games or Monsanto you're taking money out of the pocket of. It's individual artists who sell their models and textures and shaders for between 5 and 20 dollars.

5 and 20 who the hell are you kidding? I have spent way more than 20 on a single purchase in the Daz store. Tisket promises that no one will use the models for commercial purposes and bankrupt the community at Daz

You have some serious mental issues.
Go back to your forums. You are almost up to 50 posts in about 70 days! You are going to need to get some big time moderation with those numbers! Almost half of those posts aren't even by you!!!

Justify it? I'm giving personal files away. I'm not profiting in any way. The only result I hope to see is more people picking up this hobby. Your self-righteous rant is noted. I'm sorry you feel so threatened though. I know your type so I'm not surprised.

It's got nothing to do with you not making any money off of it. Other people lose money off of it, and you know that. You're not stupid. You're not stealing from a corporation. You're stealing from an individual. There's plenty of actual free content out there to be had by anyone who would like to pick up 3D Design. Don't give away the shit that individual artists work hard on and then charge small, reasonable amounts for.

If you paid for it, which I seriously doubt, based on the fact that I just did a torrent search and one of the most recent uploads is a hairstyle you just used two days ago in one of your renders, it does not entitle you to give it away to other people who would otherwise also have to pay for it. DRM doesn't work that way. I had to pay an extra $600 to even use Daz related models and textures in software development on top of what I paid for the models and textures themselves.
Don't be a scumbag. Don't steal. There is no side of this where you're in the right.

Great. Then she's entitled to use them. She's not entitled, legally, morally, or in any other way, to give them away to anyone she wants.

That's not how DRM works. Show me your DRM Agreement. Go ahead. I'll wait while you look for a loophole that doesn't exist. I already know what it says, because I abide by it.

Look at it as Tisket Purchasing the files for use by a limited community for a specific goal...in this case a fantasy art co-op that creates art work for a very specific subset...a text based online game....and does not profit from it. Tisket INC is just outsourcing some of the work to properly illustrate in game characters using a shared resource.
or don't the choice and outrage level is really up to you.

If you want to respond to me Wesley, do it here and not like a whiny little bitch in private messages. The only reason your even started bitching is because you're afraid if more people are exposed to and start working this kind of art, it will take dollars out of your own pocket.

Tisket was making this kind of art for years before I even got here, so that's out the window. She does solid artwork and I don't consider either her or Divone competition on the basis that they were here first. The reason I responded to you in a private message was because my posting in this thread further will provide literally no benefit to anyone. But if you insist, I have absolutely no problem saying the exact same thing here, as I said it already earlier in the thread; you just didn't catch it:

They're welcome to. As I mentioned prior (Referenced by paying 600 dollars for licensing):

My own business is squeaky clean. Pirating, however, falls under this:
1.0 General License Agreement.
Content License. Daz grants to User and User hereby accepts, subject to the limitations and obligations of this Agreement, a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Content, duly obtained by payment of all applicable license fees, as provided in this Agreement.
License Fees. User agrees to pay Daz, prior to or concurrent with delivery of the Content, the full license fee for use of the Content. User agrees to pay Daz any and all applicable taxes that are levied in conjunction with the purchase of the license for the Content whenever Daz must collect and/or pay such taxes from or on behalf of User. Furthermore, User agrees to pay Daz all costs, expenses, and attorney's fees expended by Daz in the collection of the license fees and any applicable taxes, whether by filing a lawsuit or through arbitration.
Title and Ownership. The Content contains copyrighted and/or proprietary information protected by the laws of the United States and/or international laws and treaties. Daz and its library licensors retain all rights in, title to, and ownership of the Daz Content. The applicable third-party published artists and their library licensors retain all rights in, title to, and ownership of the PA Content. Daz gives no rights or warranties with regard to the use of any objects, names, trademarks, service marks, or works of authorship depicted in any Content and User is solely responsible for separately obtaining all such necessary rights or consents that may be required for any particular use of objects, names, trademarks, service marks or works of authorship.
Restrictions on Copying. The Content is provided for User's exclusive use. User does not have the right to provide the Content to others in any form or on any media except as set forth in this Agreement. The Content may be copied in whole or in part for User’s exclusive use. Specifically, User may copy the Content onto the storage device of an unlimited number of computers owned or controlled by User. The Content is for User’s exclusive use and no other individual or entity. Each individual must obtain his or her own license to use the Content.
Daz3D has gotten back to me and they've sent a cease and desist order for copyright infringement to Kranar. Renderosity has yet to respond.

It would depend on the type of art we're talking about? Finished pieces or textures or specific animations would probably apply and I would imagine if someone is willing to pay thousands of dollars for it then it would probably be qualified to be put under some kind of commercially protected status. At that point, it would be tantamount to freely sharing copies of Windows Office or a copy of Witcher 3 for "non-commercial" purposes.
I think people have this concept that art for commercial use is just pics on the internet and have a whatever attitude about it, but you can also just say that Witcher 3 or Gemstone is a bunch of letters and numbers strewn together (which it is at it's base physical form). I have no skin in this because I think this particular art medium is unimpressive but artists in traditional mediums that I personally know (pencil, acrylic, digital animation etc.) have the darndest time making ends meet. When an artist gets upset about something monetary it's 99% of the time not about greed but rather "oh shit I don't want to sleep on the streets next month."

Yeah, meant animation in general, which does go back a hundred years, just that nowadays all animation goes through some form of digitization.
