20M going ONCE

The runestaves and gloves take the most advantage of the greater elemental flares because of the very low roundtime. PM if you have additional questions.

But don't runestaves flare less frequently than melee weapons?

I've never heard that before. I also have some GE gloves, if anyone wants to test this.

Slightly, only to compensate for the 3 sec cast rt vs 5 sec swing times, still a goddamn beast staff.

It's worth noting that Adred's research (linked above) was performed using a runestaff (which showed a 22.2% chance of flaring).

He's right, it applies to all runestaves vs all melee weapons but isn't really relevant to anything in particular. Not like a pure would switch to brawling just for a slightly higher chance of flares.

My empath hunted Sheruvians in the monastery for a good while with one of these staves, the frequent occurrence of neck death crits was so much fun.

You focus your thoughts while chanting the mystical phrase for Bone Shatter...
Your spell is ready.
You channel at a Sheruvian monk.
You concentrate intently on a Sheruvian monk, and a pulse of pearlescent energy ripples toward it!
CS: +205 - TD: +186 + CvA: +25 + d100: +86 == +130
Warding failed!
The Sheruvian monk shudders with sporadic convulsions as pearlescent ripples envelop its body.
The Sheruvian monk is smashed for 50 points of damage!
... 20 points of damage!
Good blow to back!
The Sheruvian monk is stunned!
... 20 points of damage!
Blow to the eye swells it shut!

** A nebulous dome of blue ether discharges from a gnarled ironwood runestaff capped with a sphere of ur-barath and engulfs a Sheruvian monk! **

... 20 points of damage!
Abdomen bulges greatly and organs rupture!
... 30 points of damage!
In a massive display of gore, the Sheruvian monk's neck explodes violently!
The Sheruvian monk falls to the ground and lies still.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
Roundtime: 3 sec.
