Anyone know what this is all about? Was loresinging and then I got struck by lightning.

Just as you finish singing the last word, a dazzling lightning bolt streaks down from above, striking you!
... 15 points of damage!
Shocking jolt to forehead. Painful.
You are stunned for 1 round!
Roundtime: 5 sec.

Did you try loresinging again right after? Were you using a generic song? Was it something special about the item that might have caused it? Could be you were using a generic song which GM's have encouraged us not to do and one happened to be watching and they bolted you?

Generic? Naaaah, I'd call it "classic."

I had just loresung the first verse and accidentally repeated it when I was struck. Don't know if that matters.

Were you singing a generic in a public place in common?

Don't you get a warning if you sing hand/land or the other usual standbys? I guess it blasts you if you don't listen.

Dumb, who the hell plays a text based role playing game in 2016 to try and be creative?

I was at a table, but it was indeed the faithful old hand/land.

They changed the loresinging a bit ago and made changes like that. Guess they want more creativity.

No.

What would a warning for that even be based on as far as policy?

khorpulent was probably just singing Nickelback or something.

If he was singing Nickelback, the lightning bolt wasn't nearly strong enough.
